The road is narrow and tough

Success is something that is not achieved overnight. The road to it., as mentioned in my title, is narrow and tough. Meaning, traveling in it would require probably liters of tears and sweat. I'm still in college, and I know I'm still far from reaching my dreams. A lot are still to be done. I have already started my journey, and I'll reach the end of the line no matter what. I'll chase my dream. I'll do the things that I do best, and be the best in those things that I do. Persistence, hardwork, and prayers are all it takes.
Where are you now in the journey to success?

Great, you are young yet you know all of this. I wish you a success.
I have dreams but I don;t think I am that persistence woman in trying to reach them. In life, I don't want to insist on having something that is not meant to be mine, so I did what I do best and try as best as I can in doing my works and the result I just put it in the destiny and God's hands.

We sometimes find ourselves in places where we least expect ourselves to be. God really has different plans for us. His plans and ways are always better.

I am in the verge of making the greatest decision in my life.. Right now, I am very near of achieving my dream but there are so many things that hinders my dreams like my parents. Well.. and also I'm really afraid of failing too since I found a great opportunity to reach my long term dream.. but it is just a path.. so there isn't certainty that I would be actually reaching it so I'm quite afraid that I would be risking everything yet I wouldn't be achieving anything..

How are you able to say that your parents are hindrances? For all I know, parents just want th best for their children. Consider their advices as well.
Also, may God bless you on your journey to success. I hop you make it, but remember that we sometimes need to take risks in order to make it.

I agree with you. The road to success is narrow and tough. It is not a yellow brick road filled with Gold. It is rather a thorny road with steep climbs. But though it is narrow and tough, you must enjoy the journey. Remember, success is not a destiny. It's a journey. It is not what you get when you reach your destination that matters. What matters most is how you become along the process. So, keep on moving with a happy heart.

you are right. we cannot enjoy the sweetness of success if not for all the hardships and sacrifices that we encounter before reaching it. without persistence, small obstruction in our journey can turn us away from reaching there and without prayer we are not able to ask God to help us all the way. Right now, I believe i am still halfway thru my journey to success and I know there is still a lot of surprises and difficulties i have to encounter.

I can tell that have somehow achieved something compared with what I am way back then in college. I am a gradate of a 4 year course, and I have a nice job although it is very far from my profession and my passion but it serves me well in paying my bills and as well supporting the needs of my family ( no I am not yet a father, hahaha). But at least I can pay a rent for a shelter, eat three times a day and sleep with no worry from cold and sickness, and when tough time comes I can somehow spend a couple of bucks for medications. But if you are asking for my ultimate goal, well I am very very far away from my target but at least I am hoping and dreaming one day I could reach the distance to touch the torch that I am currently staring from afar. Cheese ^_^

That's right, suceed is not easy to reach. You have to work out to reach it. Now, I'm working for a car rental company, one of big company in automotive section, but not yet an employee, just an outsourcing employee. My first dream is having collage so I can be the permanent employee, then chase my dream to be the English teacher or Lecturer. I hope time will be so fast, but I know, I have to through it one by one. I hope five years is enough to get. I'm trying that hard to chase it.

Hi redvakaurvaki!
Thanks for your response! Keep going. I advise you to pursue college. Because education is something that not even the most cunning robber can ever take from you. And never forget to pray also.

The journey is really tough up-ahead so if one wants to succeed,he/she must be determined to do it no matter what.If you really aim for something you must put your mind to it, and of coarse prayers.

I'm still in search of my idea of success. I notice small milestones along the way. Although financial independence hasn't come yet, the job I have is more in line with my ideals, personality and schedule than any other job I've held before. I continue to work towards my dreams and goals holding to certain ideas:
No matter how large the container and no matter how small the pebbles, as long as I keep putting pebbles in that container it will eventually fill. (I don't remember where I found this but it sticks with me)
It's never to late to start.
Get out on a limb, that is where the fruit is! (David Wolfe)
Every day is a new start. Every day is a new opportunity. Every day can be the best day ever!
Thoughts are things. Keep it positive!
No one is given a dream that can't be fulfilled, you may have to work for it however (paraphrasing Richard Bach)
