My Sister's Keeper

I watched this movie yesterday and it was a really good one. It focuses on a family with one child having leukemia. The child was diagnosed to have this disease when she was still very young. Of course, her mother, played by Cameron Diaz, did everything for her child to survive. When the doctor suggested a "designer baby", Cameron Diaz agreed almost instantly. A designer baby is one who has been designed to express a controlled set of genes. Now, the baby was designed to be a compatible donor for her sister and ever since she was born she has donated blood, stem cells, etc. to her sister. When she (Anna) turned eleven however, she hired a lawyer to sue her parents. She wanted to be medically emancipated from them because according to her, she wanted to take control of her own body. Now, Cameron Diaz could not understand why she did this because her other daughter was already dying from the leukemia and needed a kidney transplant. Anna's kidney was the only chance that her sister would survive longer but she still refused to donate her other kidney to her dying sister. So why then did Anna file a lawsuit against her parents? Why did she choose to stop donating an organ to her sister? Find out for yourself. It's a wonderful movie. :)

Anne filed a lawsuit against her parents and stopped donating an organ because that's what her sister wants. Her sister wants to end her life so that Anne can live like a normal kid. Already watched that movie a long time ago. Indeed a very touching movie. Honestly, I cried watching this movie.

I am totally agreed with you. Watched it inspite of many negative comments in IMDB. And I found it to be touchy. How a girl can fight against her parents for her existence in expense of her Older Sister's life though she loves her very very much. Hats off to the director who portrayed the emotional turmoil of the little girl so perfectly.

A story about the most painful experiences of our lives: illness and loss of a loved one. A movie narrated by each character with a lot of pain. Sometimes life's so unfair to some people, especially children, and that's exactly what this film shows. "I never understood why Kate had to die and we live. Maybe it was not a reason, maybe it was meant to be." conclusion are words or sister who did everything to keep their older sister alive. One excellent, as always wondering why her and not me and always get to that answer. Those who passed through similar experiences will feel until the last por the movie (and, of course, to the last tear). Cameron Diaz played well, and I often angry, sometimes I understand it was a mom in a position so hard ..... Abigail Breslin is known to be a child prodigy and that is a perfect actress. And Kate, that Sofia Vassilieva, I can say is WoW! How talented! How well each and every state has passed and how much I hurt for her soul. Love story between her and Taylor was more depressing .... I liked them, but it was a feeling of bitterness when I see how they want to live a normal teenage life and how little they could.

I admit it was a good film, but if you've read the book you will, without a doubt, be baffled. The ending was literally the direct opposite to the ending of the book, and I have no idea why! But it was a good film, which reflected the book well as long as you disregard the bizarre opposite ending.

Wow! I didn't really know that it was based from a book but if I do get a copy I'll read it! Thanks for commenting!

I have watched this movie when it was released here. I did not have any idea what the movie was all about when I watched. When I started watching and knowing what the story was really all about, I got so engaged that I just kept crying buckets of tears until it ended. This is definitely one great movie.. :)
