Today is National Teachers Day. It's a day to celebrate the wonderful teachers you have had in your life. Do you have a favorite teacher? What did they do to make them your favorite? My favorite teacher was my first grade teacher. I was also lucky enough to have her as my fourth grade teacher. I liked her because she seemed to understand who I was. She was very sweet and genuinely liked her job. I really admired her. In fact, I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. I wonder where she is today...

I didn't know today was National Teachers Day. I am going to say that my favorite teacher was my Geometry teacher in High School. I was never good with numbers but he was very patient with me. He made math easier, he just had a way with words and how he presented himself in front of us. Unlike many other math teachers, they yelled at you

It's wonderful that you remember a math teacher as your favorite teacher. My husband is a math teacher. He struggles everyday to help the children learn math. For many of them, it is their hardest subject. He tries to make it fun and tells math related jokes to keep them engaged. Many of them tell him he is their favorite teacher. He is often surprised by that because so many of them struggle with math.

I think some teachers are very good one like the one you mentioned but some are just...! I have got my favourite teacher who is Dr Woollhead. He taught me Biology last year and he is just a brilliant teacher. He can help me to link all the ideas together to make it like a full picture rather than like single pieces scattering around. He also tries to use some daily examples to link to the Biological ideas so as to make it easier to understand. Therefore, I think he is the best teacher that I have ever had.

This is a good day to remember all my best teachers. Though I am not a student now, I remember the school & college days and the wonderful teachers as well. Few are excellent and understanding, especially some of the English teachers. I still respect many teachers who were in school, served their service so dedicatedly and exceptional one teacher did a lot to the poor children by providing meals and free books and special coaching as well. Sad to say, I cannot see such dedicated teachers in these days. I wish good luck and best wishes to all teaches who serve the student by sharing the wisdom and knowledge.
Thank-s

I do not have a favourite teacher during my schooling days. However, I want to say here that I appreciate the contributions of teacher to the society. Teachers play an important role in the life of a pupil. They are considered to be the second parent of a child. When a child leaves home, he or she is in the custody of a teacher and it is the responsibility of the teacher to guide a child morally.
I would also like to urge government around the world to do more to improve on the lots of teacher. In my country, teachers are poorly paid some of them can not afford a decent home, a car, a sound education for their children.
If teachers are regarded as learned persons that is of paramount importance to a country. Then they must be given a decent salary or pay. At least they should be able to live above the poverty line.
Happy teachers day!

First grade? Wow, I sure don't remember my first grade teacher. First one I remember fairly clearly was in third grade. Favorite teacher, hmmm.... A few stick out, but maybe Mr. Kaufmann, the English teacher. He gave us all new middle names starting with the same letter as our real middle name. He was funny, and generally pretty pleasant...
