Is it possible to compress gasses so tightly that they act exactly like a solid. Is this possible or will this than be called a solid or a gas

Carbon dioxide compresses to a solid form which we normally call "Dry Ice". It doesn't have a liquid stage! On a much larger scale, the bigger planets in our Solar system are made of gases. So yes, it happens!
