Well Cows are considered the most useful of all animals....Poems have been written as to how each product of a cow from its milk to its droppings is useful....and also India worships around 3 Crore that is 30 million gods and goddesses and so its considered that you can offer your prayers to all these gods if you worship a cow....its a ritual to get a cow home during important occasions and offer our prayers...its called gomata pooja..

there is a mythological character called 'nandi' in the hindu religion which gives u whatever u want.That's why hindus attach much importance to it.That doesn't mean that cow's meat is not eaten.Only hardliners among hindus avoid its meat.There are a lot of people who eat its meat.In south india there is a great demand for its meat.
