Do You Ever Think, "Why Did I Bother Getting Up Today?"

Today is one such day for me at least. I am toying with the idea of ringing the doctors up regarding something I'm not happy with so maybe that was on my mind whilst everything went wrong around me. Earlier I walked to Brunton Park, the home of Carlisle United, to buy 2 tickets for the final game of the season on Saturday. Only £10 each so that was a good start. Didn't get the seats I wanted but I half-expected that. However, it's all gone downhill since then, especially at tea-time. I swear that one day I will have a major accident in that kitchen. I've already burnt myself in there (a while back) but this time I just wasn't thinking straight. Anyway, I have one of those three-tier steamers that can be placed on the gas hob; water in the bottom (holding the spuds) and whatever veg I want in the above tier(s) that get cooked from the steam rising from the water that the spuds are in! Why did it all go wrong? Well, I noticed that water was seaping through where one of the handle bolts goes into the pan. This meant the bolt itself needed tightening. Could I find some pliers? Nope! Oh, we have loads of screwdrivers but all were useless in this scenario. What I had to do then was transfer the water/spuds into another pan and the peas into a smaller one. All was well until I smelled burning and what looked like steam coming from the smaller pan. I kept looking at it but did nothing. Then I decided to take a look so I took the lid off, expecting the peas to be cooking nicely but NOOO! There was no water in the pan!! Yes, you guessed it, the pan had BURNED so it wasn't steam coming out, it was f*cking SMOKE!!!! For God's sake, whatever next? Everything seems to be fine now as I've cleaned the pan up and I am able to use it again. What annoys me the most though; what guy on the planet doesn't possess a pair of pliers? HUBBY! That's who!

We all have our down times..but admit it, our joys in life far outnumbered it right? It is easy to get carried away and get mad about trivial things, but hey, they are just little nuances. No need to fret on such little pesky experiences. Life is still good!!!

Sorry about all the mess and don't I know need a tool and not finding exactly what I needed. Especially with the part-time construction worker I have at home. lol, he take every imaginable tool in the house with him in his trunk. Be careful with steamers like that they can be dangerous. As for hubby, well don;t be too hard it is is just one of our many not so great days Janey, I am hoping one of us can say something of really great news sometime soon.

The pliers he brought from work didn't help. John reckons the rivet is fine on the outside, it's when you look at the other end within the pan..it's rusty now due to the water, so it's obviously a weak point of the pan. I'm not happy about this as it WAS from Marks & Spencer, a shop I have trusted in the past. I don't care if it's around 3 years old, the rivet shouldn't rust like that. I shall ring them up tomorrow and see what can be done. No harm in asking is there? The thing is the other pans remind me of my in-laws (they bought them for our engagement) so anything to stop me from using them gets my vote lol.

It hasn't rained here for a while. Bit worrying, actually as it's unusual for both March and April to be such dry months.

life's like that and when it rains it really pours.i got up this morning and watched my towels at the clothline soaked with the heavy rain. i forgot to get them last night.now im using my shirt to dry my hair and body. there are times in life when things happen the way we don't want them to be. well, they're our life's spices and without them we can never learn. just keep going...

Oh yes, that's happened to me in the past. Left my washing out overnight and it all got soaked. Not had any rain for a while though, which is worrying in itself. Rumour has it we may get some (in Cumbria at least) over weekend.

For me not because the problem is your mind thinking too much that you don't want to be.

That was a near thing! If only you had a pair of pliers at that time. This time ,Swiss Army Knife didn't do its work. For safety,I advise you to buy a pair of pliers at once for emergency needs.

Unfortunately, hubby reckons that the rivets didn't need tightening anyway..which is why we suspect that water has worn out one of the rivets on the inside, causing leakage. I am taking it to the M&S store on Sunday so wish me luck. No idea what the outcome will be but I may even leave it there as it's no good to me now.

Had those days many times, and it can be quite annoying for sure. Not too long ago it seemed like I was having one of those days and even tripped going up the stairs on the Bus, and since I thought I was hurt ended up not taking that Bus, and ended up being late for work. Today was one of those days going to a Job interview for a job I thought I would get, and then be told they did not think I would be a good fit. So it happens to the Best of us.

Okay, this is nine hours later. I am sure you have cooled down a bit. It is one pot. It is a batch of peas. We have a ton of tools everywhere, but never can find the one I want.I have had days like that. Buy yourself your own set of tools and hide them. I am collecting them, myself. I have a lot of lime green tools a tool box with a green lid. I will also confiscate anything left around out of place.

I haven't calmed down, actually. I'm off to M&S on Sunday to complain about this pan properly as it can end up being a dangerous piece of "kit" if allowed to degrade further. If I can show up the Manager of the store, I will!

Don't go blaming hubby for this one. You can just as easily buy a pair of pliers as he could.

I can't actually as I have no money. He has £500 off his parents, none of which has found its way to me, not that I'm bothered. Hubby has tried some pliers from work but he reckons the rivet has degraded on the inside due to water damage, probably. However, due to it being from M&S and the rest of it looks fine, I reckon I maybe entitled to a free replacement. We shall see!

Well i also think everyday especially during holidays. Because there's nothing much anyone can do on holidays. I would just sit around and laze at my home. Although wishing that i could learn something new and something much more better. I always end up doing something which i don't like to do quite much around in here! I don't know why i do so but i have been in long sleepy state. I always feel lazy at home. So i have been sleeping most of the time and have been inactive. Cheers!

I think I would've had a better day if I'd chosen to be like you - inactive. Good for you.

Yes, I've had one of those days. I'm sure we all have. For instance, I'm a college student. A few semesters ago I had a professor who hardly came to class. At the time I was only a part time student taking a min of 2 classes I believe. So I might have had only one class a day. Again my former professor has MS (multiple sclerosis) so he was hardly in class. The days where I don't feel like going to class and end up forcing myself to go and he wasn't there. So I literally waste my gas to end up turning back around just to go home. Days like this I feel like "why did I even bother" I had a gut feeling just to stick this one out, yet I go to class anyway and the professor is a no show. It was a good and bad day. Good because I had not class, bad because I waste my gas. Lol, you can't win for loosing.

Trust me, I have to deal with this every day. Being a clumsy idiot, I can never do anything right. Don't take it too seriously, you'll only make things worse. Once you have a good night's sleep you'll feel alot better. I burn everything I cook, I can never do things right, I spill everything.

I'm actually taking the pan to M&S (where it was bought) on Sunday as I feel the thing is faulty. No way should a rivet disintegrate like that, not even in 3 years. Mum has had her steamer a lot longer than me with no such problems so I shall mention this in the store. Sorry you're not able to cook without burning food. You could try turning everything down as I've learned to do that over the years..don't "blast" the food anymore.
