Don't You Just Love "Second Chance Offers?"

Lately I was a bit put out, to put it mildly, that the winner in an Ebay auction of mine failed to pay for the item so I never received any money, despite finding out the postage, etc, beforehand.
Funnily enough, I hardly checked my emails on Tuesday (Wednesday now lol) which is very unusual for me..and the Second Chance Offer was accepted at around 10pm Tuesday night.
Hoorah!
Apparently, the Second Chance Offer buyer had been away over the Bank Holiday weekend so has only just seen the email from Ebay on my behalf.
The person now has my PayPal email address and will pay me forthwith the tremendous sum (including postage) of £29! Well, it won't be now as it's 1.30am but I've been waiting all this time, a few more hours won't hurt.
Whoopee! A result at last!

That's great Janey. I'm pleased to hear it. So it seems that not everybody was on line every day.. I thought they were because I am!
When I have sold stuff on e-bay, I have always felt that it being sold was a good result even though what I have sold have usually been at rock-bottom prices anyway. Except for one isolated time when I sold a piece of equpipment for a couple of hundred. _Derek

Yes, well I had a "result" like that with my MD player..bought by an enthusiast who paid good money (thankfully) for it, as we BOTH knew it was a collector's item.
This sale is what prompted me to try to sell other things as well. Ebay is full of extremes. There are those who will pay ANYTHING to get their hands on something that's rare and others who are from the "owt for nowt brigade" and resent paying more than a couple of quid for anything. Trying to strike a balance between fairness and not wanting to rip people off is quite difficult..but I reckon I have done that with the things I have sold so far.
My faith in human nature is fully restored.

Hey good things come to those who wait. I am glad at least the whole prior attempt did not go to total waste. Good for you Janey I am happy you got a buyer!

I got the money via PayPal earlier too..minus the fees but it was still 27-something, so I'm happy. Will I not be liable for Ebay fees now because he went directly through PayPal?
That would be an added bonus if that's the case!

It's an old iPod (4th Generation Classic 40GB) that is cosmetically-challenged but in full working order. I was honest about this in my description of it, plus there was a photograph.
£29 might not seem much but I'm really pleased.
