I'm not sure how much I gained when it comes to my first pregnancy. You see, I'd gotten sick (along with some other family members) around my 4th month. Up to that point I'd gained 12 lbs. I stopped gaining anymore weight after that...
With my second pregnancy I gained about 25 lbs, if I remember right.

During my 2nd pregnancy I gained about 25lbs. Luckily after I had her I have lost 31 lbs. They usually say that pregnant women should gain between 20-30 lbs depending on your body type.

Well, unfortunately I was never able to carry a child Full term. But I do remember one of the times gaining quite a bit, and totally irratible. As for the appropriate amount... A lot of it depends on the nutrion side of things, and that also it would be unhealthy for much over 30 pds of weight gained. Yes, I know it might take a little longer for it all to come off, but either way if you can get something when you first find yourself getting hungry, it will be a way better thing as well.

pounds gaining during pregnancy depends on you, your diet the baby and your lifestyle. No one knows this better than you OB who been seeing you from the beginning of your pregnancy. If he or she believe that your still in the normal range that should be ok, that I'm telling you there is no way someone on the internet who never see you or even know you can tell you. Despite what help say, every pregnancy is different and present different risks and if you don't trust your OB second opinions are always recommended. Good Luck!

Your OB is right. Every woman is diffrent. That's about what I gained when I was pregnant. Remember its not really your weight. It's your baby, the water and placeenta . You'll loose most of that. Remember when you eat you making sure that baby is growing healthy. If your worried about going back to your normal size, do a very , very light work out or take a walk around the block. It helped with my last one. It may help with delivery. But make sure to talk to your doctor before you do anything . Remember your doctor knows best .
Good luck.

My doctor told me that gaining one kilo every month of the pregnancy is fine. But I was alarmed during my 5th monthly visit I gained two kilos for such a short span of time. Since then I started to control my food intake, but not compromising on the nutrition. I drank milk, but cut on the carbohydrate intake. I think I gained a total of 23 pounds. You are just way within the normal range. Have a safe pregnancy!

At the time I had my pregnancies I was told 20-28 lbs represented a good weight gain. I gained a lot more, around fifty each time, but my children were tall and heavy, and that is something from their heritage. I am tall, I have large bones, and their dad was tall.

When i was pregnant,I gain a lot of weight.Because i was taking Maternal tablet and eating a lot.
I gain around 50 pounds, and when my son was born he was weighting in 9 pounds.
After i give birth it was hard to loose all the weight, which i still have now.
It was worthy to gain this weight because my son healthy, and he is 5 years old now and i love him with all my heart.

I gained about 45-50 pounds when I was pregnant in 1971. Twenty pounds is very good and think about normal now days. If you get right in and get on a good diet plan you can lose it very easily. Being young and healthy really helps. Small meals several times a day works for me!
