euthanasia refers to the practice of ending
a life in a manner which relieves
pain and suffering. According to
the House of Lords Select Committee on Medical Ethics, the precise definition of euthanasia is
"a deliberate intervention
undertaken with the express
intention of ending a life..do you agree with this? Are you willing to kill someone to stop his/her pain?Or do you want to see him/her alive but in pain and suffering?

In as much as we want to free them from their suffering by letting them go, we still don't have the right to take away one's life. Taking one's life away, whether there is 'mercy' or not, is still killing. I have said this so may times: the Lord gives, the Lord takes away. Yes, we let God take their lives away--in HIS time.

yup.. i do agree with mercy killing. It can help a person in extreme suffering to end all his suffering in just small time. If there is no point in living with all the pain and if one cant bear it then mercy killing is really good.

To tell you the truth, I have mixed thoughts about euthanasia. I'm more of like 40% in favor and 60% against it. You see, I am a Roman Catholic and since it was taught to us that euthanasia is still a form of killing, it is condemned. But as I got older and have watched some movies and learned of so many things, euthanasia seems to be a good thing especially if a person is suffering. I don't really know where I stand with this but I guess, it's one of those debatable topics where we can learn a lot from. Nice discussion by the way.

I personally advocate for euthanasia.
Euthanasia should be permitted by all countries. We would not want to see our loved ones suffering. Especially when it comes to a point when they are really in pain and there is no point to carry on living because you know and the doctors confirm that they will never recover.
Rather than let them carry on living in pain, suffering, why not let them die? At least, we help to shorten their pain, their suffering. Many would say that as long as the person is still alive, there is still hope. However, i believe we should repect the wishes of the person who is sick here. If the person wants to cut short his suffering, after making sure that there is no cure to his illness, why not?

i dont oppose mercy killing. even if i have millions of money, but if it's only the ventilator or some other machine that's keeping someone close to me alive and breathing, then i rather choose to pull the plug. it may be painful to see him go, but it'll be painful to see him slowly leaving and carried by pain.

well its hard to decide if your on the real situation but to my heart i think I can't do it because mercy killing is still a sin, I already violated one the the ten commandments because God said that if you violated even one of the ten commandments everything is worthless.
