Yes, I think we can enjoy life without money. Happiness and enjoyment determined by how we perceive our lives and what we deem important. Material things that are not necesssary for our survival are not supposed to be important. We don't have to have a lot of money to feel special. We just need to know what we can buy and what we can do to feel like we are living the life of luxury.

Western civilisation, fuelled by marketing and determined to convince everyone in the world that they NEEEEEED another television, another car, another... great, isn't it? Best way to destroy the planet!
Personally, I prefer the minimalist lifestyle. I don't own a car. I own a small television and a basic DVD player but never watch TV (just films). I own a computer. My lady owns a hi-fi. Other than that, I don't see the need for anything else - no laptop, no smartphone, no extra TVs, no fancy media players... it's all just silly nonsense that wouldn't enhance my life at all.
I'd much rather read a book on the beach. Zero cost.

If you have your own family of course money makes us happy if we can give our loved ones their needs, it is in giving that we feel the happiness using the money. But then of course with yourself alone life is most important than material things in this world that we should be thankful for.

You can if you have enough money to survive. You don't have to have luxuries, but just enough for a roof over your head and food on the table.

Yes, I have had many periods in my life when I have been struggling without much money, but I can't say that I was unhappy. I have also felt sad when I have had plenty of work and money, so to me, money and happiness doesn't necessarily go together, but money can help at times! _Derek

We need money for rent, food etc and we can't live without any money at all, but I think it is possible to enjoy your life when you budget is tight and you can't buy a lot of material things. When I was a student I hardly had any money left when I had paid my rent and my bills, but my friends and I still enjoyed our lives a lot. We borrowed books, music and films at the library instead of buying them. We went for walks in the park or just stayed in our apartments, drank coffee and talked for hours.

Well, i think you mean you can enjoy life without too much money. Right? because if without money at all, we can not even live a life in this modern society. Food, drink, clothes, house, vehicles are all need money. Since we are not live in primitive society, even we want to hunt for the food, we are not allowed to, and we can't find such a place, and we can't wear clothes made from tree leaves.
Well, i do think enjoying life has nothing to do with too much money. But we do need money to live a decent life. Without enough money, we can't provide needs and wants for our old parents, we can't send our kids to good schools, to say nothing of treat a disease when we get ill.

That's very true. A simple walk in the park with your hubby and child could make you all happy. The sight of having us all together is enough for us to be happy.
Being contented with what we have and appreciating the simple ways of life could make one enjoy life without having to have much money.

There are so many people who stopped to learn to live, only customers of life, the struggle for existence. Most people think that happiness is a controlled flow of money or number of social position altitude. There are many examples of characters initially normal people who enjoy the company of others, such as defining "cool" that once perched among the social elite have suddenly become followers of style "... elegant stateliness away ... We cry for mercy, they looked smile, they forget to love.

I think it's a big NO. Even people who lives in the rural area needs money like people living in the city. Not just to enjoy life but to live life. If you love food, how can you eat your favorite one if don't have money. I you want to learn and go to school, you need money to buy your school supplies and everything.
Money is a second priority to live, help others, and enjoy life. Money is very important in our everyday life.

Yes. It's possible. It would be haes, but like what I had just said IT IS POSSIBLE. In face money makes life miserable for those who lack it and even to those who possess too much. I wish everything's free. :p

No, I cannot enjoy my life without money, because I need money to buy for my needs in order to survived from my day-to-day living. I might not be happy either if I do not have money to buy for my wants in life.

I agree that we don't need a lot of money to feel special, or to be happy at all. It takes a little in this world to pay for basic things like shelter, but how much we pay for it is up to us. Some things we need can be got without money if we think and put out a little effort for them.
Another thing to think about is that happiness and enjoyment of life mean different things to different people. For instance, I don't need a new car or a dishwasher or a smartphone to be happy, but some people just "can't" live without those things. I can feel luxurious when I put on a pair of comfortable pajamas, make myself a cup of good tea and sit down to read a good book. You can't beat that for luxury, but that's just me.

In some perspective you can. But I think that it depends on who is in your life and how do you feel when you are lacking the money to buy the things that they want. (your children) That makes it hard. I would be perfectly happy with the little things but a few things that are important. My painting materials, camera, laptop and writing materials. I shop at resale shops and garage sales. I am pretty frugal, my kids are not.

mallu how do you propose to pay rent, utilities and food
as these are things that have to be paid with that green stuff called money. I know we do not have to have luxuries at all b t food and rent and utilities must be had so we must have some money or else we are left out in the street, You must mean that we can be haooy without a lot of the stuff some people think they have to have. I just want enough to buy the necessities myself and a few fun things,.I am contented as I am now.

It's possible, but many of us live in poverty and cannot enjoy simple things like nice hot meals, a warm bed, and no worries about bills. Without complete poverty, we would be able to be happy without money.

yes, you do need money to live butyou don't need as much many people think. and after a certain point you end up working to maintain a lifestyle that realy isnt fullfilling. you get a bigger house to hold all the junk you own and half of your money goes to the goverment or tax or pays interest on loans you take out to buy things on credits.
