I just realize he doesn't know the direction between right and the left!!!

Are we tuned in to the same channel Graptopetalum??? What's that amino acid, protein , deanimate, heart and appendix got to do with the simple left and right direction??? Sorry I cannot understand... I don't know anything about science... whats the relation??? Am I missing something??? hahaha

Sorry, some people have trouble following my sense of humor, which tends to follow logic beyond the point where it has ridiculous consequences (but in math a theory is considered wrong if it doesn't work at extremes like 0 or infinity so perhaps this has some merit but then again "hard cases make bad laws"). I also have a degree in biochemistry and genetics and can get rather scientific. I thought everybody knew that the heart, in most people, is on the left side and appendix (if they still have one) is on the right. Now amino acids and proteins. This is going to get a bit technical so if science makes your head hurt you might like to stop reading here. Proteins are basically chains composed of 20 different amino acids. 19 of them include an asymmetrical carbon atom, meaning that it has 4 different things attached to it (a hydrogen atom, an amino group, a carboxylic acid group and something else depending on which one although proline - oh never mind, go and look it up if you need to know). This means that they are optically active; they rotate the plane of plane polarized light. There are also two possible forms which are mirror images of each other which rotate the plane in different directions, the D form clockwise and the L form anti-clockwise. Now all known organisms only use L amino acids to synthesize proteins (bacteria use some D amino acids in their cell walls but they're not inserted by the normal protein synthesis mechanism. We have enzymes that get rid of D amino acids by converting them to the corresponding keto-acid by replacing the hydrogen and the amino group with an oxygen atom thus getting rid of the asymmetrical carbon atom. Now do you understand why the taxi driver may have got this wrong?

It gives you an opportunity to hold his right hand and say "repeat after me: This is right" and then the other. Then once you have both his left and right hands, place his right around your waist and say left hand up in the air, right on my waist, and now "let's have a slow dance". Easy does it.

Oh it was a taxi driver? That's not good. Hopefully, he was just having one of those days. If not, he probably won't stay in that profession very long.

it's quite a surprise they do not know and the direction of left and right. when I asked him to turn to right, he drive to left. urgh

Haha! probably he just got nervous being beside you or maybe he was thinking of something else. Well, that's bad for a driver.

jacklintan, I wasn't there so I'm not sure what happened. Maybe he was driving what he thought was the correct way and wasn't listening to you. Perhaps he knew better. Maybe he'd already "programmed" in the actions and didn't have time to change before executing the program.

Sometimes, it's abit tiring to point out to taxi driver. I was expecting he would have understand when I told him from behind passenger seat. :)

They are not bothered to learn and remember.
