What your day is going to become depends on how you start it. Most people who start their day with a smile more often have it good all throughout. While people who began their day frowning, angry, irate, or irritable often end up having a bad day. In fact, even if everything around you is falling apart first day in the morning, not losing your cool and being patient will surely help you save your day. I've tried this, and it works for me. what I'd do every time I'm at the edge of bursting into anger is just pause for a moment, stand straight, look at the mirror (if there is one), take a deep breath, and smile at my self. Works every time. I do believe in the saying, "Getting angry is punishing yourself for other people's mistakes."
How about you my fellow myLotters? What do you do to keep your day good?
Happy myLotting! Smile! :D

Hmm, that one is a nice way to cut yourself from bursting! I will try that myself whenever i am getting pissed off.
Anyway, i too would always start my day with a smile. However, sometimes it couldn't be helped that my husband would start his day bad and would infect me in a way. Thus, sometimes i would end up jumpy also. But along the way to the office, i would fight the feeling and smile my way to the jeepney stand.

Sure go try it yourself. It works for me and I think it'll work for you. And it's really good that we fight the negative feeling away. Though it's hard, at least we do our best and not just succumb to it easily. So no matter how grumpy and annoying the situation I am in, I always fight back with a smile or try to do so.

Smiling is good...Listening to beautiful music is also good to start your day. And ends it with a smile especially when a person has done something good on that day. But, there are really times when something is annoying and it's hard to resist. When I experience this, I go out, go to the mall or beach or just have fun anywhere.

That's correct. Since we are not perfect there are really times that we just can't take it any longer and we lose our cool. But smiling really helps us extend our patience and take hold of ourselves though there is always a limit on how much pressure we can take.

What makes my day to be a good one is when I accomplish anything at work, online, or with my personal stuff. That's what matters to me. Smiling and making my day as hopeful as I want to and as promising as it could get really depends on how I think, how I put things into action and how to deal with people I work with and live with.

You are quite right! I have read something on the magzine and the author tells that he used to always be exhaust and feel bad about his life, and his friends ask him to smile to himself regardless of wehther he is happy or want to smile. Finally he found out that although he is indifferent to anything when he began to smile, at last he was amused by his own smile.I tried by myself and also feel it is quite effctive. As for me, when I get up in the morning, I will think about something satisfying or my goal set up to be finished, then energy will automaticaly come to me.

Hi evoldahc, I realize that to be sad or depressed won't turn the undesired bad situation to be better anyway. Therefore I always try to have positive thinking to encourage me to be full of hope with pleasant spirit when I wake up in the morning. The mood in the moment when getting up in the morning is really significant as the moment when we wake up is the beginning of a brand new day.
A good start will be half of the success. So don't let low mood to infect our day. Therefore I will think of whatever stuffs that had made me happy and smiling before or happened fresh recently. Like the ridiculous scenes I had watched in comedy movies, funny and comical things that I had experienced and seen
Have a nice day and happy posting

It's amazing how smiling at others can be so contagious. The euphoria is apparent and the mood of the group will change.

To keep my day good I try to always end the day with a clear conscience... by that I mean little things like doing the dishes before I sleep. =)
That way I can wake up without the burdens of yesterday to face the burdens of today fresh, relaxed and with a sense adventure. =)
Of course doing the dishes is small... but just finishing tasks in general helps me alot.

I tend to smile and laugh as much as possible because that's the best treatment for the soul. Life is too short to depressed and sad and bitter about things that don't last forever. Those negative feelings don't make the situation any better. The only way to make the situation great is to beat it with a smile and laughing so loud that the whole world can hear you.

Great advice. I should give it a try. Although my day usually goes depends on how i was affected by others or my stupidity.

This is so true. Smiles are good stress reliever. It can make us look younger. It can help us to change our moods. It only takes a few muscles to smile than to frown. Smile :)

You're absolutely right, when we start the day in a bad day it will continue like this and it will be a miserable day,so when I know there is a hard day ahead and I feel that life is awful I try to relax and not think of anything for a minute or two,I take a deep breath and sing in my mind, not loud,to cheer up.Another thing that helps me in the morning is a cup of coffee,I feel better after drinking it.Sometimes when I feel that the stress is getting to my head I try to say to myself not to take life too seriously. These are the methods I try to use to make my day a little better and they usually work.
