The Chinese people in mainland China are getting rich before the government's open to the west policy many years ago.Sometimes, I really don't how they can make money in such a fastest way. However, people might be happy because they are richer than before but still you can't hard see good smile in their face. There are still many problem existing in China that needs to be improved. For example , freedom of speech, human justice and a proper legal ssystem. At the same time, many poor people in the villages are still living in a difficult situation. What do you think?Share your opinion with us?

I would imagine people in China are like people everywhere: some are happy and some aren't. The fact that the Chinese government is slowly breaking down some of the stricter barriers to personal freedom is good - but I suspect it'll be a long road to change. It won't be easy to handle such enormous changes in a country with over a billion inhabitants!

quite right ,China have a very complex social network of relationships and any little changes involves huge inhabitants and interests of all parties.changes will have on the sacrifice of other's loss...the policy of reforming and opening is just the case, with the expense of rural interests in exchange for the rapid development of cities...

You got a tone of politician . Confusing ...

One of my previous managers used to say I should have been a diplomat. I'd be a terrible politician, though, because I care too much about both sides of the argument (and not enough about lying to everyone and pocketing as much money as I can).

yes,no matter in which country poor or rich there must be differece and there must be no matter happy or sad times for everybody, actually as i see from the mainland inbabitants, there are very serious gap between rich and poor, when it refers to money yes most of people living in the town or villiage will be sad, they indeed live a simple life and always worry about money for raising children, building the house in exchange thier son's marriage, you know it's not easy for a ordinary worker linving in rural places doing so much things, they barely can afford a house with half of their life's savings and most of chinese are living in the rural right,so we can come to this conclusion that most of them are unhappy...those who live in the urban area are in face with the rapid tempo of life rhythem and they also have few spare time to share with friends and family,so what do you think? well,i have no idea about Hongkong and just assume the life is much better than the mainland...

Where are from in China ,well ,you definitely know a hell of a thing about China ? And what you said is pretty objective and true . Admittedly china is fast-growing economically but the regular Chinese civilians are really struggling inside ,as always which all the outsiders can't see it .

That is truth, even though China in a fast growing pace in comparison to other countries. They are still working toward to the standard, and improving their lifestyle. So, what about people living within the U.S. what do think, are they happy or not? They are developed country, and they are everything we want from every other country. Still, I see people standing on the highway shoulder asking for money. I still see people running around the parking lot ask for free change. How is that make of it?

No doubt that people in China are getting richer and richer, and they now are only happy more on the material but not on the emotion or the contentment of soul. So, you will hardly see them smile in the face. There are still more thing to improve in China, but for me, it is consider quite fast when compare to others countries.

Hi wildlittlefan, It's because life isn't all about money. Money could buy you something that could make you smile or happy for quite a time. But those wouldn't last long. Life is more about love and relationships. And the most important love is the LOVE of GOD and most important relationship is our relationship with HIM. Money could never fill the happiness that love and relationships could give. And people should realize that. :)

Hey man, you know something? You are right. People in China can be very poor but also can be very rich. No matter how their financial situation are, they really have to know God. Actually , the gosple work in the small villages are spreading out like fire and nobody can stop them. The big cities are still facing lots of challenge. Not because they don't have the freedom to hear the gosple but materialism are getting control in people's mind once they get richer than before. Well, I hope that more Chinese can come to Christ , then China will really has hope in the future.

in my opinion that widson Chinese people aren't happy in China, because they can see the society shady side and know many of these things due to the government deliberately do nothing to improve that, to service the normal people. Such as high room rate, corruption and so on. many of the social problems shuld be responsible by the government. but, people just can bear that, can't do anything due to there is no freedom of speech. On the other side, many normal people who didn't receive the high eduction maybe don't feel unhappy in China, because they think other countries is worse than China, and themselves' life is not bad, the government is working hard for their lifes

well,I'm Chinese... I think it'd hard to say...There are 1.3 billion people in China...Yeah,,you are right,,some of them are getting richer and richer...But it's hard to say if you have money, you are happy ,right? Yeah, there are so many problems in China,,but every country has their problems.. so I think most of the Chinese ,they are happy..^^

I don't think that the country a person lives in determines whether they are happy or not. I think that just as many people are happy in China as anywhere else. Yes, they may have room for improvement, but all places do. All places and all people have their challenges. True happiness doesn't come from outside factors.

Atleast they still can proud to be chinese, and that what I saw from chinese that go to work out of their country. Many technicians in my office are a chinese, and they only speak chinese. They can't talk with other language, that who make me respect their nationality.
