I'm extremely dissapointed in the cartoons of the present. I completely miss the older cartoons such as Tom and Jerry and the original loony toons. I will confess to enjoying toons such as Family Guy and South Park but they don't even compare to the older shows. Does anyone else feel the same way? I just feel that with better technology came worse quality

I'm not really sure if you can compare Tom and Jerry with cartoons like Family Guy and South Park. The target audience for each cartoon is different. Tom and Jerry was more for the kids, while Family Guy and South Park had mature content. So I cannot see how you could compare them.
In terms of comedic value, you cannot compare them either. Tom and Jerry's style of humor was using body language, since the character's do not speak. While South Park and Family Guy characters talk, and use body language as well.
However, I still find all of them equally as funny, be it old or new.
The Simpsons, Dexter's Lab and Courage the Cowardly Dog are my favorites, by the way.

I miss those old cartoon shows but still there are some new cartoon shows that are as good too. And yes I have to agree with you about family guy. I love it. And I love Phienes and Ferb (oops the spelling!!), Sally bollywood, kickbuttowski.. I still love them.
