Does crack cocaine cause mood changes?

I hope this is not a discussion violation but I just have to ask. Does using crack cause a person's mood to change? There is a family member in my home who is typically nice and easy going. Lately I have noticed that one minute they can be very nice and within a short span of time they become very nasty for no apparent reason. then they get reclusive for a few days, not talking to anyone just getting up to eat and go the bathroom. Several days later they get up as if nothing has changed. The other day I happened to be able to see into their backpack and I saw a clear pipe and copper which heads me to think they may be using crack. Any thoughts?

It sure sounds like some kind of substance is involved. Do you feel comfortable talking to them about it?

Not really. They will not talk to me about much of anything, let alone this. The whole atmosphere is very uncomfortable when they are around because you never know what attitude you are going to get.

mood changes can possibly be from a withdrawl. do they have the funds to keep a steady flow of the crap around?

You may have a point here. They do not have a steady job and when they do odd jobs I don't see them for about a day or so. When they do resurface they they eventually start getting moody.
