I saw many discussions about China is fast growing country, and it is always in comparison with U.S. Would it be such a big deal if China is a fast growing country, and still other places within this country is poor in comparison to U.S.? I just don't see the point why people aren't so happy or make a big deal about it. Let it be growth, and be competitive. Don't people hate the concept of monopoly? So, why not let some countries growth their economic strength, and be wealthy. People should have a bigger heart I think.

I agree with you. A fast growing China shouldn't be harmful for any countries. Is it good for the world to have a poor country and wait for other countries to donate to it? I can't see that China will be a threat even if we become to be a developed country. Chinese will be happy to live in a powerful country. I love China

I think all Chinese people are very happy seeing China grow stronger than before, that way the bad chance that Libya is confronting will never come to China.China never become a big deal to any other countries.

Yes,though China has many problems to be resolved, but I can see great changes have happened in the rural area. For example,my wife's village had a great income for growing orange trees last autumn, the 200 villagers earned the average of 20,000 yuan after they sold out all the oranges!

I think they are saying that China is growing fast because they are doing alot better than the U.S. right now. I do not think we are jealous of them but the economy in the U.S. is terrible right now in comparison.

I don't like monopolies, either. However, China is in a class all by itself. For one thing, its government is still communist. The way I see it, a RICH COMMUNIST country will spell even more trouble for the world. How much money does it allocate to its military? For a nation that has a bad human rights record, it doesn't bode well for the future.

Hi Kingparker, have you given a thought as to what China is doing with all the money? It has more than 14 trillion dollars that it can spend on anything it wants. So far most of the money is in US Treasury bills. If China starts to buy companies and land all over the world, how would you feel about it? Imagine the Chinese folks come to buy houses after houses in your city, and the China government buys land after land, and companies after companies. Over here in Singapore, it has bought so many companies, even hospitals and nursing homes. Since most of the shops in every city sell more China made goods than other countries, imagine the day when China starts to threaten the government in your country!

I think the only problem is limited resources in terms of any growing population. However, one shouldn't circle on limiting any population's growth in my opinion, rather we should find other ways to use our environment without being destructive, yet meeting our needs of survival...

Actually, it is really not a big deal if China grows in the economical aspect. God knows that the Chinese should also be given the chance to live and earn their keep from working. They are also entitled to reap what they sow. The major problem withe China is it's government. In all respects, China is a Communist country, somewhat the antithesis of democracy. There are fears that if China grows economically, it can have enough clout to turn things on their favor - meaning Communist interests. Remember that China is still an ally of North Korea and it can give economical support to the government's country. I say government, not the North Korean people. Also, China has the potential of blocking other nation's interests - whether political or economical. Other nations might be assured if the government is much more open and more participatory but with the Chinese government, you never know. This situation can lead to aggression and if China has the right cards, all things will work in their favor. I'm not saying that China or its government is a threat. But other nations see it that way. Besides, nations are also looking in the government's record in its human rights violation. For other nations, it is best to be wary of China's movements since the government itself is doing this under the table. Of course, in the economical perspective, China is a paradise. Low labor costs and a big potential for market expansion but there are other things to be considered regarding governments and that is track record.

I think every country has the right to develop and to be strong in economic or military, as long as doesn't disturb another country by making an invasion or attacking another country. And I hope China won't be that arrogant.
