Last week our laundrywoman gave me a folded bill of money. She said it was from the pocket of my denim pants , which she was about to wash. I was surprised that i didn't see it despite looking at the pockets of my pants before putting them in the laundry bin.
The other time, she also gave back two bills , a 100 and a 50 which she found in my husband's denim pants too.
OMG, we are now getting forgetful. Do you experience the same too?

Hi. SIMPLYD. No, I am not forgetful when it comes to losing money. I hardly ever put money into my pants pocket. I may put loose change into my pants pocket every blue moon though. You and your husband are very blessed to have an laundrywoman as honest as she is. Most people would have taken your money without you ever realizing that it was stolen. I know that my husband has told me that he used to find money into his dad's pants pocket when he would wash his clothing for him. I think that my husband helped himself to this money that he found too.

I guess, he got it for himself since he knows his dad has forgotten all about it already.

As we grow old, forgetfullness comes , it is natural, just now i went for shower, it is too hot, i kept my glasses some where, i searched but failed, just can't remember, so i tookout the other glasses..
let Kalyani come, she will get it for me.
Your laundry woman is honest, you should have given her some tips..
Thank you for sharing
Enjoy life to fullest.

We are fortunate to have an honest laundry woman who has been with us for many years already. She always return what she finds in our pockets.
I guess, she is returning our kindness too, because we don't treat her like a servant but as a part of our family. We give her bonus during Christmas , clothes and bags that are slightly used. Besides, we let her eat with us in the dining table.
I guess, kindness begets kindness .

Glad to hear that you have an honest person who is returning this as well. Glad to also hear she checks the pockets before washing something as it is better then than after washing something, and having it get ruined. I know from time to time I have to double check before washing something and have found money, etc. in them as well. I guess when you lead such a busy life, things like this are bound to happen.

Somtimes, this happens whenever my husband and i arrives so tired from work, that it is so mechanical for us to just take off our pants and put it in the laundry bin. We forget to check the pockets because of that.
We are happy that our laundrywoman who has been with us for so many years and would come every Saturday to wash our clothes, is an honest one. She really returns all the bills she would find in our pockets.

Yes, we are lucky to have an honest laundrywoman. She has been with us for quite a number of years already.
Of course you will get it, because it's anyway from the family.

First, I would like to congratulate you for having somebody very honest to do your laundry. Some laundry service providers do not return valuables found on pants (and I'm speaking from experience - since then I promised not to be forgetful of the things I put on my pockets).
It's great when you find 'forgotten money' on laundry - especially when you are in great need and then suddenly there it is.

Yes, indeed we are so lucky for having a very honest laundrywoman. She has been with us for many years already.
Truly, forgotten money is an unexpected money.

Yeah i have experienced that too but by the time i remember it's gone already but i don't ask the helper anymore. when i am here staying at my sister's home, i do the chores and the laundry, but when i am home at my parents', we have a helper there doing our laundry. my mom is like that too, she's getting more and more forgetful. there are a lot of times she has lost her money because of being so forgetful, she's getting old already. she just needs to be reminded from time to time. it's good to know that your laundrywoman gives your money back to you

We are lucky indeed to have an honest laundrywoman.
People tend to be forgetful as they grow older. I guess that's a natural occurrence when one is already aging. It is for us to remind them on things they tend to forget.
In our case, it's the laundrywoman who reminds us when she sees those money in our used clothing.

Dear friend,
It was during my school days, but after that I do make it sure there is nothing inside my pants or shirts pockets. Moreover mostly I keep money in my wallet. But my father once forgot the medical description in his pocket and it was destroyed entirely after wash. Later he had go to the doctor once again to get that description again.

Oh, that's a disaster and a disturbance too, since he has to go back to his doctor.

Thankfully, I don't carry much money on my pockets. First off, I don't have a lot of money. Secondly, I try to use my debit card as much as possible so I don't have to carry any around.
But a lot of things do get in the wash from pockets of pants. Specially my kid's clothes. They would have the odd coins on their pockets, and a lot of pieces of paper. Worse, they would even have candies in there.

Well i also forget checking my pants pockets before washing or bringing to laundry. There was even a time when i saw a folded 50 peso bill in the pants i am ironing. Good thing it was not torn by the washing machine. This moments of forgetfulness does not really mean a serious illness unless we forget all the time and that is senility already. Maybe these are bouts of not being able to remember because there are other things more important to think about or we are just too busy. You're lucky your laundry woman is very honest.

Yes, we are indeed lucky that our laundrywoman is very honest. I guess, it's her one way of repaying us for our being good to her too.
We treat her as part of our family. We even let her eat with us during lunch, but she would always beg off to finish her washing. We also give her bonus on Christmas.
But going back on that forgotten bills, it's a good thing the washing machine didn't tear the bills . And just because we always forget the money in the pockets of the pants to be washed, doesn't mean we are senile. We just have some memory gaps

Lol that happens with us so many times... I do not move out of the house and so do not have much cash with me. But at times, when we move out, I sometimes carry some currency. But as this is now a non-habit with me, I almost forget taking out the currency back. And when we do wash the clothes, neither she nor me cares because it is presumed that I did not have cash and even I had, I was supposed to have taken it back... The only times she finds it is when she irons the pants... and there starts the rant - I should be careful or better - "What were you thinking about all the time... grow up"

It's a good thing though that our money doesn't get torn when being washed. Besides, when we discover that we have money in our pants, we also feel happy because you have an unexpected money.

oh hi syoti! i haven't seen you post for sometime.
I guess everyone of us gives importance to money, coz' we worked hard for it. But sometimes it couldn't be helped , if we inadvertently forgot to check the pockets of our pants about to be washed.
Good thing we have an honest laundrywoman.

This just happen to us last Monday. My mother-in-law was washing our clothes using the washing machine. She noticed that a 20 peso bill surfaced on the water, so she looked where it was coming from and found the remaining on my husband's jeans...

It's nice to note though, that our peso bill is that sturdy, so as not to get easily ripped by the washing machine.
I think they were made for like us who forgets to remove them from our pockets when we put them in the laundry bin.
