On the 8th of May, Sunday, mother's day will be celebrated here in our country. It is a day where people, mostly children, do something to thank their mothers. Some give flowers, some give greeting cards that they, themselves, made. When I was young, I used to be part of our Church ministry, and we read a letter for all the mothers during the mass. We also give a flower or ribbon for all the mothers who are present in the mass. Now that I am already a mother of two, I haven't got anything special yet during mother's day since my eldest son is just 2 years old. But I know that my two kids are thankful that I am their mother.

In our family, we are not really that fond of taking great note of the fact that the second Sunday of May is mothers' day in the Philippines (and in other parts of the world). However, since we always get reminded by what's on TV every second Sunday of May, we tend to fall into making the day rather special for our mother. We'd greet her Happy Mothers' Day and we'd cook good food for her and we'd try not to stress her out. LOLs Happy Mothers' Day to you in advance, maroseqf!!

Thanks vesuvius! For all mothers, I think this day is a very special occasion for them so we really have to try to make them feel important.

Hi maroseqf, Welcome back to MyLot! In our country, mothers day was yesterday because we have a different calender! I live in Australia, so i am miles away from my mom. I missed her so much and cried over the phone when i heard her voice yesterday. I had sent her a pair of emerald earrings through courier. She was really happy to receive them. I also did a hand made card that said Happy mother's day! I miss my mom very often and i wish to have her with me sometimes soon. I also sent my mother in law a pair of gold bangles because she loves them. Last time when she came to Australia to see us, i realised that she had an eye on the bangle in the jewellery store's catalogue. So, i thought of surprising her. With two great mothers and their love, i must say my life's amazing! I thank them for always being there for me!

People who still have their mothers with them are so lucky.

I am going to go and visit my mom tomorrow and give her the gift I bought for her. Mother's Day is Sunday here also. I hope to spend time with my daughter that day.

Hi maroseqf: Well congratulations for being a mother and for all your efforts. Being a mother is one of the most beautiful things a woman can be. In my case I think I'll invite my mother for a dinner and I'll buy her some flowers and chocolates . ALVARO
