$1000 may not be that much in some society but can be a lot of money to other countries. I still remember that $1000 in Canada was quite useful while I was till in there. But now, I think it maybe different because of inflation. But if I use that $1000 in my city , that will be different. It is about $8200 in my city right now and it is about a person's monthly salary and it can be quite useful for many people in here.Well, What will you do if you have $1000 right now? Share with us.

Hi wildlittlefan! You are right that $1000 is not really alot of money these days. I live in the USA and $1000 can go quite quickly. But, I would be thrilled to have that amout of money anyway! I would pay some bills and try to put some of it in the bank "just in case of emergencies". You can never have too much money and it is always good to have extra money no matter how much or how little amount it is!

I would put it into my savings to pay for my car insurance, so that I wouldn't have to worry about saving for it throughout the year :)

If I had that much cash, I would split it in 2. The first half would be invested in a time deposit, treasury bonds, or mutual funds. I would have to "shop around" different banks and see which one Id invest with. The other half would be used to put up a small business. It wont be that big, just enough to cover the essentials and maybe get actual income that would grow over time. Im just being conscious about my future that's all. That amount of cash today would become huge for long term and maybe I could even use it as my retirement fund. While I use my present income for daily expenses and other small pleasures. That's just me anyway.^_^

I think $1000 can be lots of money for people living in some countries and that's why many people will enjoy it if they really have that kinds of money. Just by looking at all the people have responds to this topic, I think many people really wants that kinds of money as well.Up to this point, 52 people have already comment on this topic and I think the number do reflect on the hope of all the people. Me? I think I need more than that numbers to survive in this city and as inflation goes up every year, $1000 is not a lot in this place. It is important to save money but I think your idea is the best. Investment is good and important for the long one.Without good investment when we were young, it will be a hard time for us when we grow old and get retired. I highly recommend everyone to save some for investment when they can still have the ability to work during their young age.Spending money is fun but only when we have it and only when we can really afford it. Keep using credit cards to pay our bills is not wise at all if we can't pay in full by the end of each month. It is better to use cash in stead of using credit cards unless you really have to. Anyway, i hope everyone will have that $1000 soon and people will be more happy since they have more money to use or plan their future as well.

Hi Wildlittlefan. If I suddenly got $1000 right now, I would have to pay my past landlord a little over $1000. When he evicted me in March, I went to court and the court set a date for May 27. So I need to pay the landlord back rent before May 27. If I went to Canada right now and used the money my $1000 would only be worth 965.51 Canadian dollars.

Oh, Rob. I hope you don't have to face the court case and you can pay the money back to your landlord before that. I know it is not easy for any of us who are facing financial difficulties and I am also the on hwo is tsill struggling for this issue. I pray that God will take care of His children when we face financial problem and that's why we need to keep on praying for God's mercy. I prayer that you can get through this problem as soon as possible and enjoy your life all over again. God bless you , Rob.There is always hope in the Lord

Thanks Wildlittlefan. Although the creditors are knocking and bamming on my door as if I've just won the lottery,I'm still floating up to the surface. I have a lot of small money making projects including my book. The money trickles in, but as you say, with God's care, I'll be alright. And God Bless you too in your struggle.

Thank you , Rob.I hope we can be an victor at all times with God's grace. It is not easy when we have to go through all those trial and unhappiness events. However, We can share and pray together over the internet with tons of Christian online. We can experience on the air support from God's family all over the world.I hope that one day I can tell you that "I have just got my job ", then the burden on my shoulder will be disappeared immediately . I am looking for that day and I hope that it will come soon because without a job, I can't do anything at the moment since everything and every plan needs money . At the same time, without a steady job, my plan such as study or doing something else will be hard for me to execute.Well, We all have hope in Jesus and still believe that tomorrow will be a better day and a new day.God bless you,my friend.

If I go given $1000 I would get three double glazed windows for my bungalow. I would have one for the kitchen, one of the bathroom and one of my daughter's bedroom. Those three windows are in a row together. Then I would save up to get the lounge a doubled glazed window and my bedroom one too. Hopefully my disabled son will be getting a doubled glazed access door for his wheelchair. I am trying to improve my bungalow which I bought last summer.

I want you to find a window for me - I want you to find a broken window for me
Hey, looks like you love to fix windows a lot and I hope you can get that $1000 as soon as possible. It is true that we do need more money to fix up our house and windows are very important things for a house.I still remember when I was young , I once help a window company to find leads for them by knocking every house's door where the house has a broken window or old window outside. If anyone wants heir services, I would get $40 dollars for each sell. Unfortunately, it was winter and full of snow out there. It was really cold as well. Since I was young , I thought it would be good to earn that kind of cash.I end up earned nothing and leave the job within one day.Thatwas when I was young though..I won't do things like that now.

If I had $1000 I would buy a car for my husband. He cannot get a job because we only have one car, but if he doesn't get a job, we can't afford another car. Catch 22, solved by $1000.

$1000 is generally not enough to live in California. For me, I would have fun a little. I would use some of it towards funding my affiliate marketing endeavors. Other than that I would spend it wisely and save some of it.

coke - A coke will always help to cool your emotion down.
It is okay if you really want to save it . In today's world, less people will save money but only knows how to spend money. That's why we really have to save some money for the future. If I knew how to save and how to invest when I was young, it would be a totally different story for me right now.Unfortunately, life has no if but only real history. If I have 1000 right now, I will try to find some kinds of investment and try to make my money multiply more. There is a book which is well known for lots of people and it is called rich dad, poor dad.The poor dad only knows how to save money but later on couldn't catch up with inflation and the rich dad really knows hoe to invest and his finance grew and grew. Anyway, just some of my sharing and I have to sleep now. Good night.

$1000 is around 40,000 philippine pesos. It costs a lot here. I really need a desktop or laptop so once i get my hand on the bucks, ill buy one. I will pay the school fees of my eldest son, good for one year and the therapy sessions of my youngest. Whilst the rest of the money will be kept in the bank. Thats just simple.

Oh, yes, I 've been to Manila once and I know that $1000 USD will do a lot in Philippine. With that money, you can also think of investment as well. I think to live in a country like that is not that easy.I still remember that even a MacDonald set lunch will cost over 700 pesos. That sound lots of money(even the money won't be that much in other countries). I hope that you can really havf ethat amount of money , so that you can really fulfill your dreams in helping your children and May God gain you that wish. God bless you.

I'm going to be honest and say that if I have $1000 right now, I would spend it all in clothes and shoes! I know that's not the best way to spend the money, but I can't control myself when I'm shopping! :)

I will be earning an extra $1000 this month but I have rates, water rates, electricity, 3 long trips so a bit more than $200 for fuel, and if anything is left over it will go towards getting my credit card paid out. I've got it almost paid out and so there is less interest each month - YAY! I'm saving for a new (second hand) car and I want something good with low klms.

I would start by catching up on some old bills. I would hope that I could put a little bit in the bank to be used in the future so that if I ran out of money for some reason that I would have something to fall back on.

If that's US$1000, it wouldn't be worth AU$1000 right now, due to our situation with the dollar at the moment. I think the best investment I can make with that amount of money is to put it into the mortgage. Interest rates are fairly high here now due to our apparent prosperity. I'm renovating at the moment, so if I'm into gambling, I could put it into doing up the garden area properly & hope to make it back many times over when I sell up very soon. According to our top investors here, spending money on landscaping will make the greatest difference for the smallest outlay.

If I have that amount I will just use it to save for emergency use or unexpected needs that may arise. Here in my country it is equivalent to 42,000.00,when you buy with our 1,000.00 it is equivalent only to more or less 25kilograms of rice, meaning with what we have for our day to day is hard to meet both ends and so in other words - always short in budget and with that $1000.00 is good enough for number of months to satisfy our needs without having to look for an amount that will add up to the shortage.
