Out of all the books you've ever read, if you had to pick a favourite character, who would it be and why?
I think I would probably choose Silk, out of the Belgariad/Mallorean because I think he would be so much fun in real life.
His dry humour, sarcasm, thieving, acrobatics, deviousness and general banter, I think would make him awesome to hang out with.
But who would you choose?

It's a toss up between Luna Lovegood and Remus Lupin from the Harry Potter series. Luna is so looney, I can actually relate to her! haha.I'd love to have the bluntness that she has. And Remus Lupin is the perfect teacher. He understands his students and brings out the best in all of them. Not to mention his humility and kindness. :D

I'm awful at picking my favourite anything. So, I won't do it now. But I liked the main character of the latest book I read, "The Member of the Wedding" by Carson McCullers. This young girl has a rich imagination and wants to get away from her surroundings, which I could identify with perfectly. She sort of creates a new identity for herself, but things don't turn too well. It's a rather beautiful coming-of-age story.

My favorite characters tend to change every few months, but currently, I think I'd have to chose Alaska, from "Looking For Alaska" by John Green. The book basically centers around this guy, Pudge, and his boarding school experiences with his friends, including this girl, Alaska. Throughout the book, Alaska is a free-spirited, practically glowing, wild child. I really admire her sense of freedom and strength.

... dang it. I can't pick. I can't even pick a favorite book or author. I've read so many great books.
I really love lots of the characters in Lord of the Rings. I think I'd have to pick Eowyn or the steadfast and loyal Sam from that book. I also really love Amalthea and Molly Gru from The Last Unicorn. In more recently published works, I really love Percy Jackson and his Cyclopes half-brother Tyson. I have a bit of a thing for big friendly monsters, actually. I also loved Gratch from the Sword of Truth series.

The Last Unicorn is one of my favorite books of all time! If I could pick favorites that is. I have trouble, obviously. I'd really recommend The Last Unicorn and the Percy Jackson series.

I agree with allyoftherain. Percy Jackson series was so well written. That is, if you're fond of children's adventures. I haven't been a kid in a long time, but I still enjoyed reading it! :D

My favorite book character is Sherlock Holmes. I love his intelligence and gentlemanly ways. The setting and genre of his story also helped make him my favorite. From his series, I learned the thinking method of deduction, so he is a very memorable character for me.

I think learning something from a book always makes you feel closer to it. I think ne of the reasons I'm so fond of Harry Potter is that I didn't like the canon couple, so it got me into both reading and writing fanfiction, which has improved my writing skills no end.
I haven't actually read (or seen) Sherlock Holmes. I think it's probably on the bookshelf though so I may dig it out.

Yeah, I didn't like the people that ended up together either. Then again, I ship Draco and Hermione, since I like those kinds of pairings. XD I got into writing by reading too. Sherlock Holmes is a good read, but some people don't like reading classics like it because of the language the writers use. It's kinda sad.
