How do you see yourself five to ten years from now?

I found myself being so contemplative nowadays. When I was little, I made a list of things and accomplishments that I wanted to achieve over a certain period of time. Over the years, I can truthfully say that I have sticked with my plans and with that I am happy.. Currently, I am re-planning my life. Five years from now, I will see myself as: 1. A mother. Nothing beats being someone who would make the biggest influence on her children's life/ lives. 2. A wife. I would be the greatest life partner my husband will ever have. 3. A businesswoman. I would generate income for my own family and employment to others. 4. A great citizen to my country. Living a life that is compliant to the government and society's rules. 5. A happy, contented person. How about you fellow, myLotters. What will you be?

It's great that you are planning your life. I worry about my future because I can't really stick with a plan. Right now I am an adult but I still consider myself young. I have been through different plans and since I didn't really like them, I have come up with different dreams. But a person can't have new dreams all the time, or else nothing can be achieved. I wish I could stick to one thing but I have trouble with that. Five years from now, I will probably still be confused, but hopefully I won't be! I will have a job and I will be going to school still. As Robert Kiyosaki says, education is a lifelong journey. Even if I am not in school, I will still be learning something. That is all I know.

Hello Sashakiddo, thank you for your input. I commend your honesty. I think, and this is my personal opinion, that everything all boils down to attitude. I think having a positive outlook and "having the end in mind" contributes largely on whether our plans in life will actually take place. Having a plan had helped me a lot because it reminds me of what I wanted to achieve and that it guides me on what endeavor to undertake in order to achieve them.

Hello Sunny, it had been a pleasure reading your comment on this discussion. I was somewhat amazed on how related our plans in life are. Anyway, before I get to be too blatant with my observation and before you accuse me of being too forward and assuming (hehehe..please don't get offended, am just trying to make you laugh.. :), I just want you to know that your view on this topic is highly appreciated.

I used to be a very well organized person before. In fact some of my friends always looked at me as the guy with the plan. Anyway everything changed after reality hit me. I noticed that somethings just don't go your way and somethings happen better than expected. As for now I think five years from now I will be pretty much stable with my career. I will probably be in a stable relationship by then and will probably have some investments for my future.

Although it is normal to get discouraged when things does not happen the way we planned it, we still find reason to move on. We may somewhat modify our plans as a result to these set-backs, but generally we still have that "general view" on how we want our life to look given the passage of time.. :)

I see myself working a regular job, and coming home to an apartment and loving girlfriend. And a kitten, I love kittens! I'm quite content with living an average lifestyle, however I will not let my intelligence go stifled. I will continue to write literature and hopefully one day publish it.

Kittens are fine feline creatures, I also like them but right now I do not like to keep them. We have pet cat and kittens at the past. The kittens poop are so smelly and they do like to play and crash some stuffs. I am not trying to discouraged you from having a kitten as pet Isdshrooms, I am just relating my experience. :)

Wow, mael! That is quite a heavy ambition you got there. I applaud your ability and sense to really state high ideals. It is not impossible. We all start somewhere right? Even the likes of Bill Gates also experienced being at the low..slowly working his way to the top. I think all it takes is grim determination and hard work so that we all get to achieve our ambitions and aspirations in life.

Hopefully I will be able to have kids with my husband. Be able to spend time with them, as well as family and friends. I would like to be able to publish short stories and/or a book. I am working on that. So hopefully that will happen. Those are just some things that I would like.

Hello Dodo! I am glad that we share the same passion: WRITING. I pray that you could push through the publication of your book and/ or short stories and that it would turn out to be successful. I am as well hoping that with God's blessings you and your husband get to have kids.

I do have like a sort of list too. I wish I could achieve my whole list in five years but that's impossible, actually. Anyway, in five to ten years I could reach some of my goals and I'm working very hard for this. I see myself in the place that I want to go to work, already working of what I love. With a car and planning to buy my dream house. Close to achieve success. Supporting my family (mom and sister, I'm not planning a marriage or children until 35 or 36 maybe, I'm 20) and giving them the life I always wanted to give them. Starting my own dream business thanks to my work. I don't know about all this in five to ten years, but I'm willing to do all that I can to achieve my accomplishments, so let's see where I am in five years...

Ten years from now, I see myself driving a posh car, living in a mansion at exclusive subdivision, and traveling around the world.
