Are you a tidy person or do you like to keep things a bit messy?

I don't mean messy like not cleaning up or having the garbage sitting there but messy like putting your books on the floor, magazine atop the coffee table, clothes hang carelessly on the hangers, make-up all strewn up...and the like..., I can't live in a really tidy room, I would feel like I'm not supposed to move...thankfully, my fiancée is the same with me...
Are you like this too or are you the opposite?
Can you live together with a person like this if you are a tidy kind of person?

I would say I'm pretty tidy. Looking at messes makes my hands itch, like I really wanna straighten them out. I usually do. It's like a mental condition; I can't help it. I'm perfectly fine living with people who are a little untidy, because right now, I am, and me and my roommate get along quite well, though we argue a bit about straightening the room out sometimes.

i'm not a very tidy person and i like it a little messy in the house. it makes me feel more "at home". LoL. and believe it or not, it's easier for me to find my things when i need them if I just put them anywhere everywhere. Some people won't agree though. anyway, i do clean the room like every two or three days. by that time, it'd be already really messy. And if it's too messy, i won't be able to stand it neither. My spouse is a little less messier than me. and he does more of the cleaning. since i'm allergic to dust. But overall, we are okay with each other's habits.

Seems when I clean and organize I can't find anything versus tossing it wherever.

I am not a tidy person, although I strive to be. I try very hard to keep things looking clean and neat, but it always seems to get away from me. I don't really understand how it happens. I am on a mission to declutter my house right now. I am purging everything I don't need. I want a clean house. I think it will make me feel good to have a clean house.

We are in the same boat. I always want to make it remain and stay clean but somehow it still get mess. I can let it remain tidy for a day and it will get mess the next day as people keep in and out from my room. They have things and leave it as they like. So my tidy room will get untidy in a second even if I hate when it get so.

My goal is to be tidy, but my reality is messy. The ideal is "a place for everything and everything in its place", but I often don't know just where that place is.
I have a poor "visual memory" and don't remember where I put things in haste or "of the moment". I seem to do OK in the midst of messiness, but I'm not particularly proud of it.

Technically, I'm in the middle. despite my minor OCD (or obsessive compulsive disorder) I pretty much a messy person and I prefer it that way. I work better with a clutter and mountains of papers in a desk rather than working with a clean desk. Friends and family would usually scold me but they know me long enough to know that I really don't mend my ways, especially when it comes to cleaning.
The same goes to my room which is sometimes look like a storm hit it moments ago...as what other people described it. I like the untidiness since it makes me feel...I don't know really but I like my things that way.
I think I would have a hard time with a person who is a organizing person. I don't like being told what to do, especially with my things. I know they meant well but I have my lifestyle thank you very much...and I won't change it just becuase people say so.

I am not a real tidy person. I grew up in a house where it looked lived in and thats how I am now. It's nice to have a nice clean house with everything in its place but then you just dont feel as free to relax. My clothes may not always get hung up right away. Sometimes they sit in a basket for a few days but that don't bother me at all. My boyfriend is just like me on this so we get along great.

Personally there are people I know that are the Neat tidy person, and no matter where you go, what time of day you might stop by there place is immaculate and looks almost like no one really lives there. I am the opposite and my place always looks lived in, etc. I do make it always look nice when we know we are planning on having some company stop by, but never to where it looks unlived in.

My house is lived in, I do not like to have a house that you cannot see anything out of place. I have more things to worry about than if everything is in its place at all times.

I would love to live in that perfectly tidied room that you described but i must admit. Apart from trying my hardest to keep my sons room in order who is autistic, and i dont know how much you know about that but prder is strictly important, i tend to find my stuff being sprawled about the place, although i must think i have a place for everything because that's where i go when i am looking for that something.. makeup jewellery, hair straitner that i find sprawled accross my floor. Send me a cleaning or just stay and clean LOL

Hi. marapplestiffy. I am considered to be a tidy person. My home and closets do get messed up, but I do tend to clean up, as soon as I can. I like to have things and my clothing organized because it helps me to find things so much more better then. I don't want to hurt your feelings or anything like that, but I don't think that I could live with a person that is not tidy at all. I stayed in my in-laws house and there home was always messing looking. I dealt with it, but I disliked it so much.

I can be both. I can be a tidy person and I can be the one who keep things a bit messy~ It depends on my mood. If the room is always clean and tidy I could not let it be messy in a minute. But once it get mess it will continue get mess till I find a date to clean all of them ~

I think I'm in between. I love organizing my
stuff when I'm not doing anything. Sometimes,
my room is messy, sometimes tidy. I just organize
and clean sometimes. But I'm not a neat freak.

I don't think I could live in a really tidy room. I always have stuff stacked here and there and it would be very uncomfortable to be in a space that was too neat. Unfortunately, I do have a lot of garbage laying around my room as well so tat makes it even worse. Not only is it a bit messy, but it is sometimes hard to find things. I don't think I could live with someone who was so neat that if you made one little piece of dirt they would have a fit. Thanks for sharing!

Im a clean person but i live ina very small space now. I would say cluttered. Im always trying to fit more stuff into the cupboards but theres only so much room and too much stuff. If i didnt spend so much time playing sims3 and sims medieval maybe that would help some.

I am in between. If I feel lazy i'll just let things as they are but if I have to study I have to clean and have neat surroundings

When i was younger i always want things to be in proper places, floor is shiny no garbage around, kitchen is clean and shiny too and most of all the comfort room should always smell good, tiles and toilet bowl are clean and shiny. I also see to it that upon rising in the morning the bed should be fixed and nice to look at with matching sheets and pillow cases. Nowadays, with my daughter, i have learned to be not so speck and span anymore. My daughter is a bit lazy and she just put things anywhere especially her books. Her closet is so Topsy turvy and when i clean it up and arrange her things inside she gets angry. So now i just clean the areas where i have jurisdiction more than my daughter like the kitchen, the bathroom and my own bed. Besides i'm a bit old already that cleaning the house thoroughly everyday is very tiresome for me.

I tend to be a bit messy. When I'm working on things, I like to have them out where I can see them. This serves as a constant reminder that I need to finish the project in order to put things away. Once something is out of my sight, I tend to forget about it.
