I remember back then, movie tickets were just 60 pesos, a little more than 1 dollar.. but now the price is double (3-4$), and triple or more because of all the 3D and imax. I don't really care much for fr those effects, I just want to see a good movie without wearing those goggles.. Some movies aren't ven that good anymore...That's why I haven't really been in the cinemas for a long time..it's not worth my money anymore.

Yeah, I remember those days, I can't even recall when the last time I had watched a movie in the theaters- I think it was GI Joe..it's not really that practical anymore to watch there because of the price..we can just buy a dvd for a much cheaper cost.

Yeah, G.I. Joe is like, last year or was it 2 years ago.. I agree, it is more practical to just buy the dvds- wait for the good copies to come out since they are much cheaper and affordable to us.

Yes lady your right, it's not practical these days to watch on the the movie houses except if you are with friends especially the younger ones who are mostly in groups. But if you are saving for something for the future I think it's worth the wait if you really like the movie because you can watch it over and over again. Thanks again for your time sweetheart.

whew! yeah i remember when it was still very cheap like Php30 (US$.70). i would go to the movies almost 3 times a week. but now, that it is expensive i can no longer remember when the last time i watched is. i think it was last year with my boyfriend and it was $2.55. last time i checked the 3D here costs about $5.80, but i dunno how much it is right now. i don't watch movies in the malls anymore, i only watch television and videos online. yeah it in not worth it because after a month r so, they will all be showed on HBO, Cinemax, AXN etc, etc. so why watch at the malls/movie house? hehehe

The admission price goes up I guess competing with the gas prices today he... he...And also within a week you can buy a pirated movie or wait a little longer it will be clear just like in the theater. As you have said too after a month or so you can view it on cable.Thank you cherish for your response.

Here in the States back in the 80's the movie prices started to rise almost every year. But back then there was Still a variety of genres. You had real dramas and Real comedies. Now it is either a romantic comedy or a gross out trying to be funny film. The Dramas Only come out , what few there are, in the fall, Just in time for Oscar nominations! In the 80's the suits noticed that the blockbuster was the best type of film.So they brought them out and charged higher for them. So now it is normal to just have horror, Action films, and the genres I already mentioned and that's it.

Yeah, now what the people care about is earning more money, I can't really blame them since people need money with all of the pries rising- food, clothes, gas, etc.. Thanks for your response.

Same here, the movie tickets in my area had gone increased a few times since from nearly 10 years ago. In the early days, i can watch a movie with below $1. But now, it is different, i need to spend nearly $15, to be able to watch an ordinary movie. For those 3D movie, i need to spend above $20, to be able to watch them. Things had gone really expensive now. That's why, i prefer to watch movie from home only, since i can save quite a lot of money by visiting less the cinema areas.

15 dollars is a lot of money... yes, I agree it's definitely better to watch movies at home since it is more comfortable too and you can watch movies with your family any time.

Well Im with you with this one. But if you want a cheaper movie tickets, try to go a province like bulacan and such.
My location is near laguna and bulacan and when we found out that a movie ticket there cost only $2 we will try it this next weekend.

h, 2 dollars is quite cheap.. I am currently far from bulacan though, and in the current province I am in, I haven't even seen any malls nearby, so no movie theaters here..

if i remember it right, the last time we went to cinema is 3 years ago. and we spent about $4 each. after that, we decide not to watch movie in cinemas because it is expensive. we are 4 in the family and we think that it is not reasonable to spent so much in cinemas. so we just buy cd's. by that, we can watch the movie over and over again.

Yes, it is really not advisable especially now that almost all have gone up.And the only leisure that many can afford before for entertainment had gone up too which is the movie theater.Aside from the movie you have to buy some snacks too or eat after watching the movie.I guess the theater owner have decided to up their price is because of the competition of the pirated movies which is rampant so if you prefer the big screen the price is much higher. Thanks martha for the lines.

Well here in the UK, when I was at college, in 2002, it used to cost me £3.64 to go to the cinema. Now, even using a student card for a discount, it cost £7.50 last time I went and that wasnt even a 3D movie or anything. So I just dont bother going anymore because its just not worth it. I've also found though that at my local cinemas the other moviegoeers are to disrespectful. If its a scary movie and theres a quiet bit for suspense, its guaranteed some teenagers on the back row will be sititng there laughing, screaming or trying to make each other jump, not to mention them running up and down the aisles when they get bored. So I also dont want to be spending a fortune to go and put up with that kind of behavior. these days, I prefer just to rent movies, or watch them on TV. There's many companies here who charge you a monthly fee and you can rent as many movies as you like following their fair use policies.

yes, it is much more practical to rent or buy movies- you can even get discounts.. Fortunately people here aren't disrespectful in movie theaters- but they can be overreacting when it's a horror film, screaming and all that.

Yeah, there weren't any television when I was younger to and i loved to hang out in the cinemas since it nice there and tickets were still cheaper. I just bu dvds or blu-rays if i want to watch a movie, so I can watch it over and over again.
