It's small, it's thin, it's just a piece of plastic but it could do a lot of things for you - THE CREDIT CARD.
I own a MasterCard and I use it only when I really need to. I still prefer to purchase things using cash because using cash means you're never gonna have to think about paying the thing you are using, later.
I find using the card very convenient though when I'm in the hurry and I have no cash to buy something immediately, or when I have online transactions.
How about you?
Are you using your CREDIT CARD on all purchases?

Although I have a few credit cards I am not one to take advantage of the conveniences it allows us too. I took prefer cash and or nothing, but must admit I do so via my debit card. This way I am not tempted to easily use my cash, but still have the convenience and protection of not having too much cash making me perhaps in danger of being robbed.
So debit for me most of the times, which essentially is like cash because if there is none there, I can't use it. lol

It is advisable to use credit card judiciously and pay the money before due date. also debit card can be used. In India we use cash for majority transactions and I find in Canada also they use more of cash,.

I use credit card whenever the purchase value is high and I can get credit for say 30 days. I pay the amounts of credit card before the due date. In India cash is used for most of transactions like purchase of vegetables, groceries etc.

Hi vesuvius, I like using credit card to purchase stuffs so that I can accumulate points that I could redeem things I wish to have [em]happy[/em ]Of course I need time to pile up the points. I don't do any deals via credit card that need to pay for interest. It's not worth to pay extra interest like 2 or 3 percent for collecting points.
The other advantage of buying things via credit card is, we don't have to pay cash immediately after every purchase. We usually pay the balance once a month. If we do the purchase earlier we can enjoy at least a month before payment due date
Happy posting

I don't use the credit card very often... it's usually when we are in a pinch for gas, groceries, or some really good deal. Of course it's all the really good deals that have gotten us into trouble. I prefer to use the debit feature on my check card,

I learn my lesson on credit cards, and I meant to restrict the use of it. I have several credit cards before, and I simply cancel a few of them already. Lately, I can't resist the temptation, and re - apply 2 extra credit cards myself. I might regret from what I was doing, but I have to admit, it was like a devil give your all the temptation you couldn't avoid. I will try to limit my use of all of them.

Hi vesuvius, it became a habit for me to carry the credit card and i can purchase whatever i want, instead of carrying all the money and bulging wallet this is good and simple for me :)

I use my credit card for emergency purchases, I do not like to charge things on it and then have to pay interest on it. I would rather use cash, check or debit card.

I can't say I do all my shopping with credit card but I do most of it. Often I over pay my credit card because I know I'll be using it. I have few things billed automatically to my credit card, cell phone bill & cable bill & few other things. It's very rare that I pay interest on it because I almost always pay it off right away. Like I said earlier, most time I even over pay the balance so I have extra few dollars sitting in the credit card.

Using a credit card is a MUST!! Let me tell you why. Now you can get a credit card that pays you cash back from every purchase. Pay your entire bill every month so there are no charges and it's free money. Doesn't everyone want a discount on everything they buy??

In my view, credit card makes my life more convenient than before. When I buy things in the shopping mall or online, I always use credit card as my preferential method of payment. But I always repay my credit card debt in full in order not to pay the interest. I don't think that depending on debt is a health way of life.

Since there's a teeny interest whenever I use my credit card, I try to use cash most of the time but whenever I need to make a big purchase, I use my credit card because of the installment payment basis. My dad warned me about using my credit card too much because that was the problem of most of the people who suffered during the recession in the US a while back...I don't ever want to spend money I don't actually have and find myself in so much debt.

I don't have a credit card.. but I have a debit card and it is extremely hard to ignore it. It's always in my wallet! It's so easy to just swipe and go versus leaving money at home as my discipline.

One tip I read at "feedthepig.org" is that the credit card gives you an illusion you can buy more things because you don't see your money goes away from your hands.
Plus , you need to pay commissions , card fee , credit cards points can maybe gice you some nice deals , but you can always do good without those deals.
I'm considering wether or not getting a credit card from my bank but I don't see how i'm going to use it in a way that will save me money. I also afraid of that illusion and temptation to buy and buy and buy.

If possible, I like to purchase all by my credit card. I don't like bringing a lot of cash because it is somewhat dangerous. I prefer to use the credit card, it is clean and I also don't have to worry about the fake money. And I can return the money to the bank later. And my bank will give me some gifts according to my purchase amount.
I love China

I paid off my cards when I sold my home. Now I only use it if I'm traveling but I also paid it off right away. I don't want to accrue interest charges anymore. For my everyday purchases I just use my debt card. It is a wonderful feeling not having credit card debt. I feel so bad for people who have to use them to survive before they get their checks every month.

I don't use credit card and I don't own one too. My mom once gave me her credit card and asked me and my sister to use it but we just returned it. I am actually very scared of credit cards. I prefer cash.

I use mine for the extra guarantee it provides. I have had to use it once, too, when I ordered a camera online and the company went bust. The credit card company refunded me quickly when given the details.
Also I work in a little village. Getting hold of cash requires a special trip to the cashpoint. So for me it's much less convenient to use cash.
Not all purchases, though. If it's something small then I just pay cash.
