Hi all, I need your help. My brothers and I are giving my nephew a rocking horse for his first birthday, but I kind of want to add sometime else (preferably a toy) that would go with it. For example, for my niece I am giving a doll, a toy camera, and a "Little Mommy" book, all those I think go together nicely. What can I get my nephew for about $10 that would go along with a rocking horse?

Ha! True about the cardboard box thing! :) Pretty true that he's not really going to care too much about what I give him, also. Thanks for the response!

I liked the first person's idea of horse shaped lollipops, if you can find those.
But I was thinking maybe a toy cowboy, it could be his partner. He could be sheriff and have his own deputy

My daughter was almost 1 at Christmas and she loves to be read to, we bought her the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Teddy's Shapes & Colors Book. She is 14 months now and loves to play with it still. It not only reads the page when you press the button, but it counts, and has songs too. There are soft Tonka Trucks, Mega Blocks....hard to recommend something without knowing his developmental level.
Another toy that is a bit more (I believe $20) is the LeapFrog My Pal. A friend of ours got her this for her 1st birthday and she loves the puppy. It has different modes and is customizable. You can go online and download new songs, enter your childs favorite colors, food, his/her name and all the information is included in some of what the dog says. For example, there are 3 bedtime settings (3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes) where lullabies with no words are played. Before the music plays, Violet says " 3 minutes of bedtime music, Snuggle up Evelyn"

Oooo... fun toy ideas. I considered buying him the LeapFrog Pal, but decided to get the rocking horse instead. I might look into the Fisher-Price book you mentioned. Thanks for the response!
