Can you sleep on sheets someone else used?

My daughter and son-in-law stayed with me last night to watch my son this morning while I did a race. I just cannot even bear the thought of sleeping on the same sheets! They are my kids and it probably shouldn't bother me at all...but it is just gross to me to even think about sleeping on the sheets tonight! Is it me or does it bother you too?

Hi. macdingolinger. No. I can't. I have to use fresh sheets on my bed that are already there, or I will sleep on new sheets that already was fresh. I don't like to sleep on anyone else sheets at all. It makes me feel funny. I have sensitive skin so if the sheets are the least dirty, I will itch or maybe break out!

Personally if it was just one night, it might be OK, but personally it would be of Best interest to want clean sheets on the bed. I know this is one thing that truly bothers me is when places are not too worried about the sheets and such and you smell musty odors, etc. on them. Makes you wonder how often they are cleaned, etc. for sure.

Yeah, for sure! I had a friend who stayed one night the other night and slept on my bed that folds out of my love seat. Even though it was one night I washed the sheets. It's just nasty to think of someone else coming in and sleeping on the same sheets if they had not been washed!

Sorry I missed the son-in-law part for some reason. Yes in that case I would be changing the sheets. If it was just one or both of my daughters sleeping in my bed it wouldn't bother me. However, a couple not matter who the couple are yes without a doubt I would have to change the sheets.

I gotcha! Me too, for sure - if it was just my daughter it might have been at least a little bit different..

hi friend, bed sheets as a rule should always be changed and laundered continuosly to keep them always fresh and sweet smelling, yes even if they are our children especially if they are already adults then they should be changed and laundered to maintain hygiene.

That's what I was thinking for sure! I guess if they were kids it would have been different - but somehow I doubt it! I just gotta wash sheets before I use them after someone else! I also cannot use a towel that someone else used!

Perhaps most people think so,myself included.I was on a business trip before,I was sure to asked hotel attendant for changing sheet and the underneath side of quilt,or else I must have lain awake all night.I have no idea Why people cann't stand sleeping on sheet someone else used? whether people think that nobody is clean except themselves or not.

I do pretty good at hotels and such since the sheets are at least clean. But if I thought for any reason that they were not clean then I would ask them for clean sheets!

No, it's you :) Just kidding, it's a common thing, some people can never stay in hotels because of this reason, me? I could sleep on the same sheets with the people still in the bed if I was tired enough :)

lol! Yeah - it could be!! I cn stay in hotels as long as I can tell the sheets have been washed. And one time we were traveling with a group of kids and had to stop in the middle of the night and abort our drive through the night plans because we got too tired. We put boys in one room and girls in another and I cannot promise we even got that done properly! That night I didn't care who was where we all crashed in our clothes!lol

Not when it comes to my two daughters. Anyone else it would be a big problem for me. My daughters came from me and I'm not grossed out by them in the least. They are of my flesh and blood. This is also coming from a person who people who say I have OCD when it comes to cleaning my house. LOL LOL LOL!

I will have to agree with you all the way. My son and his girlfriend stayed all night one nite while hubby was in the hospital. The decided to sleep in our bed. They have living togehter for about two years. When we got home from the hospital I went changed the sheets on the bed. I totally understand what you mean. Have a good weekend and keep smiling.

I do feel that way too. I never want to sleep on used sheets by other people. Much more using the blanket of my husband. There was one incident when i woke up using my husband's blanket. I roused my husband and asked him why is it that we interchanged our blanket. He said that i was the one who used it when i slept. So, that explains why i wasn't feeling good when i slept that night. I kept turning and tossing!

I feel a little bit uneasy using the sheets used by someone else, but, sometimes I can compromise. However, I prefer washing off such sheets before using them. In my house we used to wash the sheets daily and we maintain neatness in all aspects. So it will be a little bit embarrasing when using the sheets used by someone else.
