I hate buying plane tickets, especially from CheapTickets

I am now sure that Cheap Tickets is the worst place to buy airline tickets. First of all, in order to switch flights you have to pay an extra 150 for each person, in addition to the extra costs of the new flight, and 50 for some other bs expense. Also, when you cancel a flight which is always non-refundable at the site, they tell you that you can use the expense for another ticket as long as it is under the price of the original ticket. If the price is higher, then you pay the extra cost plus a 150 service charge. So for any change you have to pay at least 150 per person.
But the worst part is, I had to buy a completely new ticket when my flight was cancelled due to the Iceland Volcano incident. This was not anyone's fault, and I think it's completely ridiculous that they wouldn't refund my ticket for that.
Now I know, the cheaper way is the stupid way when it comes to airlines.

I have done okay with cheap tickets in the past but not used them as of late. I do know that they are in the business to make money so you are right there are hidden costs that some how manage to sneak up when we are planning to travel.
Sorry you went through that and I guess do a comparison maybe next time. I usually go directly through the airlines and have found some great not huge but sweet deals.

oh that's worth considering. I usually compare and cheaptickets has always been the cheapest place for me. going through the airlines is so much more secure and worth the expense.

I understand your feelings on this. I have learned as well that they can be a rip off at times. I would do some research the next time before you buy an airline ticket. There are several other sites that offer cheaper tickets as well. Good luck and I hope that you get some of your money back. Just don't give up.

persistence does help sometimes. Maybe I should have complained more to customer service to get a refund. Some times they just can't handle whiny people.
