Is it true that God is omnipresent?

One of the commonly held beliefs about God is that he is omnipresent. Some say that God is present in every heart. But that is still a limited presence and does not amount to omnipresence. Others says that he is whereever his devotees call him. Many people say that God is eveywhere, in each and every particle. Thus they have pushed God into stones, dust and every creature on earth. So, I have a question. If God is really everywhere, how does one explain the degradation one sees in the world?

Hi mallu, Nothing on this Earth is perfect. Even the perfectly rounded ball is too not perfect. The only perfect thing is He (God) as they say. Personally saying I have no faith on God. I do not believe anything unless I see with my bare eyes the solid object nothing like body of Bin Laden's body vaporizing or cremated in the sea that the rest of the world does not know. And ye if God has to be there He is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent. Hence the priest and the religion preachers scare people that we human being might not know what is going on in your mind but the almighty knows and therefore remain away from evil deeds. It seems now people have started challenging the omnipresent quality of God.

I believe God is omnipresent. I can't scientifically prove it to you, no one can. For me it 'makes sense' and each person has to find this truth for himself or herself..I am a big believer in the words "seek and ye shall find." Another truism is that you will probably find that for which you seek. In other words..if you look for reasons not to believe in God, you probably will them.

Hi mallu, The problem lies with the way people think of God. We humans figure that God must look like us and most feel that he also acts like us, being angry at one time and forgiving another. Many believe that she has to be male and white Caucasian lol! The fact is we are all one with God and with all things. We cannot blame God when things go wrong because it is our job to get them done right. God is the sum total of all that is including us, so don't stay in the sinking boat expecting God to save you from drowning when he's already sent another boat to rescue you. Blessings.

God is not omnipresent, meaning that he is everywhere. He lives in heaven, which is not a physical place but a spiritual realm. He has the ability to see everything that is happening anywhere, anytime. The degradation that is happening is very much seen by God in every detail. He sees everything, which is much more than we see. He is tolerating wickedness for a time period to show what happens when someone else runs the show. Right now, the Devil is running the world and it is a dismal failure. Soon, the Devil's time will run out and the world will be a much better place, a place where love and peace will be enjoyed daily.

"The answer is that there is no personality called god." Not true - Jesus is God the Son, and the Bible says so. When He was named - it was that He was to be called Jesus which is interpeted as Immanuel (see) Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Immanuel means "God with us."

horrible or not horrible disasters that occur in everyday here in earth is normal and required because if no people will die in every day and every hour then the world earth will be in a overpopulated that even between sea's and under oceans are still overpopulated by humans..... as the ratio goes: 1 human die for a ratio of 9 babies born....

Hi mallu: I think that's an interesting question. God is present everywhere including the degradation of things in the world. He is there as an observer. He suffers when we make bad things and when we make life suffers. I can't proof you this. It's a question of faith. ALVARO

I believe God is omnipresent or present everywhere. God is actively present in a different way in every event in history as a provident guide of human affairs (Psalm 48:7). I can't imagine a day without God beside us.

Hi friend, Yeah God is omnipresent because in Psalm 15:3 says the of the Lord is in everywhere. You can say His eyes not His present. Another bible account says, earth is the footstool of God, that is the present of God to us. May be other can see God is not with him because he cannot feel but God knows and seen what your doing... see you around

the notion of a "god", or the existence of one, may vary from person to person. each of us has his or her own idea of god. so this question could not have an solid answer since all of us has a belief unique to anyone else. you are the one who could only answer your own question, since this is subjective. i'm not saying that i believe in god, and i'm saying that i don't. but personally, i think that one could never prove (or disprove) the presence of one thing for another thing's existence.

So this is how I understood what you said: you are holding God accountable for the 'degradation' of this world. But first, let me answer your question. God is omnipresent. He really is. Period. Going back to what you said, upon our creation comes this gift called free will. Meaning to say, God has given us the freedom to do the things that we want to do in this life. It is up to us whether we use this free will to do what God wants us to do. Read the Bible and you'll learn more about this free will that I am talking about. This free will is actually being abused by millions of people around the world, living their lives according to selfish and carnal desires. This abuse of free well then results to that degradation that you are talking about. So, that is my answer. It was pretty long, but I know it wouldn't be enough to convince you. While typing in this answer, there is just one thing that keeps running in my mind: does this user believe God in the very first place? Just wondering.

Mallu30, we have been left to believe what was written before us; wrong or right. some how there is a power that runs this universe regardless of all the philosophies raised by many people.

for me, i believe that God is true and i think God is not present here on earth at this time, because i believe that God is busy in other Civilizations because i really believe that we are not alone in this vast universe or multi-verse..... If God is always present here in our hometown Planet Earth, then how about the other extra-solar planets that contains life according to their own atmospheric environment.... this sounds fair....

well.... if he is super busy, then he has to focus only in one planet this also sounds fair, or maybe he is like most of us starting projects all around and none ae complete, if so we need to ask him to decide where is he going to be here or there.....

hi mallu! well for me, its really this simple. I believe in God, and i know who my God is, and i know what God is capable of, and i know that for my God nothing is impossible, because He is God. So Is God omnipresent? well He is God right? :) the degradation we see, for me are our own doings. we are created in HIs likeness and in his image, and given a very special gift as we know it as FREE WILL. every degradation we see in this world are products of a chain reaction from the past. ammmmpppp............

Well I have begun reading a book called Eveningsong. by Gail Godwin. There was a part in there, ( i am not quoting word for word) but it talked about this particular issue with the world being so negative and bad. It referred to The Book of Job: why after such dutiful servance to God all his life is he now losing Literally everything in his life, so over time more and more things happened. She spoke about maybe that we fall down in darkness and see bad things then he shows us a bit of understanding that in all actuality we demanded in the first place. Eating the forbidden fruit. It was never meant for Adam and Eve to have any bad in their lives, and all was well until they ate the forbidden fruit.

Yes God is everything, everywhere. You cannot open your eyes without seeing God in all his Glory. God sees everything as perfect. As far as God is concerned degradation does not exist. You may see degradation in many places and many things, but God sees only the perfection of all things existing in time and space.

If God is really everywhere, How does one explain the Degradation one sees in the world? Like rainbows, disappearing after the sun comes out? Or Flowers sprouting to life after a winter of dormancy? How about, the way the sun feels on our backs, after the clouds go away? Or how green the grass is after a rain? Or are you talking about the prophesied natural disasters, and famine and disease in the land? I have a question about that, though it seems you are not into responding to this particular discussion...How many of the afflicted people sincerely prayed for Gods help in managing their lives? How many sat and prayed, thinking to themselves, if I feel or hear, or think of a way to live a better life, I will ACT on it immediately regardless of how possible I think it is? That is what Faith in God does for a soul. It gives us the strength to ACT and make our world a better place, I think if you looked closer you would see more beauty in the world, and even closer, you will find that where people believe in God, there is beauty and where people reject God there is degradation. Sincerely and With Appreciation.

I blame it on those bipedal god wannabe's who have in their arsenal the ability to choose to build it up or tear it down and believe that because they are at the top of the food chain they have the freedom to not be responsible for either those choices or the results. Instead they blame it on anything else, including a God they claim doesn't exist..next question..
