If you're not a genius, you just can't do without taking down notes. Notes help you remember things you just can't remember by mere receipt of information. But not all people are good at taking down notes - many people do take notes but end up wishing they hadn't because their notes were not well done and didn't work OK for them. You? Are you good at taking down notes? Me? Not much. Sometimes, I get trapped by my own notes which I do not understand at all! LOLs

I say I am moderately good at taking the right notes. At least the things that I feel I need to remember. Which a lot of the time I get right on the money and am much better for it. There are a few times where I am very wrong and then I just hope that I am lucky enough to remember what I need to remember. That can be something that can lead to extremely mixed results. My memory tends to be a bit scattered sometimes. Still it is a very vital skill to have. Not taking notes, but rather taking the right notes and the things that you will need the most. Which as I said, can be an extremely mixed bag to say the very least. There are going to be many times where we need to pick and choose to get the right notes to take. Not everything is going to be important. Sometimes, its an exercise of a might to know what notes to take and I think that I have mastered this about eighty five percent of the time.

I used to photocopy my calssmates' notes in college. i am not good at it and only end up confused with what I wrote. I like giving the prof my full attention so when reviewing I get to recognize the notes my classmates did. I know it is kind of unfair but they were happy to lend me their notes.

I stopped writing in cursive! I print my notes now. I would jot things down and then I couldn't read what I wrote. I Have to write things down or I will forget. It seems once I write it down I can remember it.

I always took notes in school. I still do it now that I am out of school too. It helps me to remember things and it is also a reminder of things to be done.

ahaha, same thing happens to me. I like taking down notes and while doing it I also draw things and when it's the time for me to get or read back important information I needed, I got confused with my own writing, and wished I could have just listened.

I have to deal with engineering equiment all the time. Thousands of wires all over the factory, going somewhere specific and doind something more specific. One wrong connection can result in damage worh millions. So for me it is a neccesity at work. In personal life however, i am a bit lazy and end-up confusing myself and others. Working on it to get rid of it,

I have always been proficient at jotting down notes. It always seemed to come rather easily to me to do this. It would make studying for tests and exams so much easier when i took good notes to helkp me out.

When the need arises yes, I am good in taking down notes, I can catch up efficiently because of my shorthand knowledge but if it is less important, just like you mentioned I can't pay sometimes important on my notes, not so organized, I can hardly read it. Because my mind is roaming around, lol.

I am good at taking notes as I have good educational record and also I have completed my shorthand course. As I have well acquainted with the english, I used to take down the notes without spelling mistakes. As I can write the english fast, there is no problem at all for me to take both lecture notes land dictation notes.

Hello Vesuvius, Actually a lecturer of mine for my board exam review commented on these topic. He said that each person has a different learning capability. One person may favor learning through jotting down notes, which he called a visual learner, while others learn through just listening, which he coined as auditory learner. There was another type of learner which I forgot what it was called but that said learned learn things though notes, lets just call them 3rd learner for now. Some people even have all of those capabilities making them very versatile learners. So Having those things in mind I think you might say you an auditory learner or a visual one. Actually most auditory learners or visual even surpassed the memory strength of a very capable 3rd learners. It still depends of the level of mastery you are in in those three areas. But do consider this that being either a visual or an auditory learner can focus and master one of these aspects or even all 3 of them. So understanding these information tells you that a real genius has mastered both of those areas. For me I think we're the the same, I am somewhat of a semi 3rd and visual learner.
