If Bill Gates were in front of you, would you ask for financial assistance?

If you're an ordinary office 9-5 person, with debts, and you know you don't have any credentials to ask for this, would you ask anyway? Afterall he could afford it anyway. You can say it's for starting up a business, which is true. What do you think? Will he say yes or "sorry no"?

I'd just walk by and say "Oh, hi Bill. Very nice to meet you. Cya later..." and walk on(perhaps shake his hand during the greeting). It'd be something unusual I am sure- I bet most people who see him just have high hopes for getting an easy buck. Just because Bill has a bunch of money, I don't think he'd just up and give it away to certain people for no apparent reason. If he were to want to give away money to random people, it would be more than likely that he would just send secret checks out to deserving individuals or groups.

Secret checks -- I like the sound of that. So if one of these days, we get a million dollar check in the mail, we know where that came from :)

I would ask him if I could borrow 1 million dollars just to collect on interest while it sits in the bank. Heck, I could live off the interest alone.. haha.

I've heard that Foundations and even the US Govt itself which give free money (grants). However, it's only for US Citizens :( Americans are really lucky to have a great country, though it's not perfect. Wish I was American.
