I have a strong faith in God. I believe everything in my life happens for a reason. If something bad or uncomfortable happens I look at it as i need to find the lesson in it. I pray all the time and teach my kids about God. One thing Im not good at is going to church every Sunday. I dont believe you need to go to church to be saved. My Mom bugs me about it. Her husband is a huge church goer, but also a hypocrite, another topic. So do you think you shld go to church every Sunday to prove your belief and love for God?

Like you, i too don't go to church often but i have very strong faith in God. I too feek that anything that happens in life has a reason and i don't blame God for the bad that happens in my life. I feel it is no point going to church just for the sake of going and not having unwavering faith in God. For me having faith in whatever He does is greater that showing to the world that i go to church every sundays.

Yes, going to church to prove a point I think just shows a hypocrite. I have my step dad who believes you have to go to church every Sunday to prove your love for God. He also feels you need to recite scripture to get your point across. i feel to show Gods love is to show respect, forgiveness, kindness, caring for others, etc. Even the devil can recite scripture. Church is good to worship with others, I just dont like when ppl make me feel like Im in the wrong for not going all the time.

Yes i go to church every sunday. We all have different beliefs though. For Catholics, we would be sinning against the third commandment which is honor the Lord's day. I go to church not because i want to be saved. I go to church not because i dont want to displease God for going against his commandments I go to church on sundays because it is my way of thanking and praising God with the rest of the family and friends. He has given me 24 hours a day, and there are 7 days in a week. For me, is one hour too much for my God?
I am anticipating though that there would be others who would then ask, why does it have to be in a church when we all know that God is an omniscient being? You can give thanks and praise to God when youre at home anyway right? Well, that is true. The other reason why i go to church on sundays is because the body of Christ is in the Eucharist. It is the nearest thing to being physically near to Christ.
Anyways, good luck to my reply here. i am sure someone will try to tweek on my explanation but it is the most that i can give. Im not trying to be defensive here. It is just that... catholics are so open to criticisms.

For me attending Church on Sundays is a very important part of my week. It is a time for me to Praise God and thank him for what he is doing in my life. I also enjoy the preaching from our Pastor or whoever is Preaching that day and just being among people of like Faith. I do ocassionally miss if I am out of town, or have other important things to do. But for me going to Church on Sunday is a great start for my week.

I am not a Christian, and one thing I don't get is that, why do you have to go to church every Sunday to show god that you love him and you believe in him. Isn't god suppose to be everywhere you go. I don't think you need a church or a temple to go to just to show god that you love him. You him that you believe him and love him by following his rules.

Although currently I do not go to church every Sunday due to schedule, I have a strong faith in God. I believe we are blessed by God if we have faith. God leads and blesses me and my family everyday. Although I do not go to church, I live by God's rules and faith and I instill that faith in my children. They are emotionally healthier because of it.

My dad told me not much of church do but he encourages us but he doesn't force us. He also did say that, our faith depends our heart. Sometimes some people go to church just to be publicly known as a religious person. I know that bible also said that, God wanted us to hide when we pray, he never wanted his people to pray out in the street so that others will know that you are praying. I always keep that in mind.
Like you I am not a church goer but i really believe in God. It maybe too unholy to advice that its okay not to go to church often, so I will just say. Go to church and pray with all your heart.

Hi tink: I agree with you on the fact that going to church won't save you if you are an hypocrite. I had a discussion with one of my aunts with goes to church everyday but she has a bad temperement and she is always discussing, so I just say: a person that looks you won't believe that you went to church today. I go to church but that's not all you have to do to be a good Christian. The way you treat your brothers and show your love to humanity and to God is more important.

i go to church every Sunday aside from the fact that i'm a pastor's kid, it's written in the bible as well not to forsake the assembling of ourselves. (Hebrews 10:25) it's true that you don't need to go to church to be saved but think of it as a place where you can experience God with fellow believers, actively praise and worship Him and be a strength as well to other people. going to church is a way of showing your support for the ministry of God, that you're devoted to establshing His word here on earth. think about it.

hello,
Actually, we dont have to visit the church every sunday just to show our love to him. I used to visit the church every sunday with my family or boyfriend because I want to learn the word of God. I know that I am not a perfect person that is why I visit him to confess to him personaly. Through the good things you made can say that you are the child of God mean you are following his words even you didnt attent the mass every sunday. Just be Good to others..

I try to. Kind of. I am Christian. I know I could try harder but I just don't have the will power and its really hard to make time for it sometimes. I usually only get any good sleep on Saturday and Sunday and then on the week days it's high school and track full time. I know I could dedicate more time to God but it's just not a huge priority in my life right now.

Yes, I go to church every Sunday. It's been like that since we we're young, the whole family goes to church then eat outside. It's like a family bonding time for us. But now that we are older and my siblings and I are busy in our own little world we don't hear mass together anymore, but I still go to church every sunday. It is part of the ten commandments and we, catholics should abide by it.
But going to church or not does not make you a bad person. To each his own, if you don't like to go then just pray at home. You don't need to prove to others if your a saint or not. Only god knows who you are, if you're god fearing, if you're a good person..I for one hates hypocrites who are a goody-good shoes outside but when you get to know them better they are so EVIL but I just leave it all to God.
BUt you know going to church would be good for you too. Listening and praising god would be good for your soul. :)

No, I don't believe that you have to, go to the church every Sunday morning.
I think you better should do something special and good for another person instead of going to the church and hear a priest preach for you.
Of course you should know the story, the message with the religion, and so on, but I think that God more appreciate, that you do something specially and good for another person, animal, the eco-system etc.
I both believe in God and the Force, which is the Godly Energy in the Jediism religion.
I think the Jediism religion have a really good message, and everyone is welcome to join the religion, even if you are a member and believe in another religion, you are welcome!
I'm actually a Christian Jedi!

Sadly, I don't go to church that much. I too have strong faith in God. I know it isn't good to not go to church, but I would like to pray directly to God. I believe in Him no matter what. It'll never change.
I want to thank God for all the blessings He has given our family. It's thanks to him that I am living this way. My faith in you, God will never fade away. Although I am also not good at going to church every Sunday, I hope that He will understand.

I do not go to church nor do I believe in god. I believe that it is up to each one of us to do right. As long as we do right we are doing good. I don't think you have to go to church every week to be a good person. But... I do think that church isn't a bad thing. If somebody thinks that going to church has made them a better person or that is what they need to do to be a better person, then it is a good thing. I think if you do believe in god, it doesn't matter where you go to believe in them, as long as you have your beliefs and follow them, you have done good.

I do go to church but not every sunday, and i do believe that being a church goer is not a ticket to heaven or being save, but i see it more of a thing of the heart, your personal relationship with your fellow humans, because if you don't relate well with the person you are seeing now how much more GOD you can not see. Going to church is good, but its not the pre-requisite to seeing God, or going to heaven. thank you
