The movie Troy made me depressed

It was a good movie with Brad Pitt and Eric "Time Traveller" Bana in the lead.
But the story really made me sad. I mean if my life was a bit happier then maybe I can watch this again.
All the Trojans had to do was burn the Horse at the beach and they would have been at peace for a long time.
Instead, they got butchered right in their own homes.

Well, I saw an earlier version of this so I knew what to expect- but i still had my hopes up for a while.. Yeah, they just had to do what Paris said, they could have checked or something..times were so brutal before.

yes, that is their right- but they may be criticized for changing it though, there are lots of fans of "the Iliad".. they did make the ending a bit happier and hopeful, because Paris was supposed to die and everyone in Troy really burned, no one was saved- the otehrs became slaves..

It's a Greek Mythology, so for all we know most of the events in the Trojan War never happened. For example, the interaction of Greek gods and goddesses (there's like dozens of them) with mortals and demigods, and Achilles' supposedly almost immortal strength.

Although in this movie the director has shown Greek kings as villains and Trojans as good people, i could not sympathize with what happened with Trojans .I am not saying that i enjoyed Trojans being butchered in the end but in my view they were too stupid to survive to be frank.Stealing someone's wife is wrong and especially someone with whom you have done peace treaty a while ago. Also it was pretty stupid move by Trojans to think that Greeks just ran away leaving the horse,i mean why would they run away, when the main warrior of Trojans, that is price Hector is killed by Achilles.
