I recently saw this American documentary, 'Super Size Me'... In this documentary, Morgan Spurlock explores the consequences on his health by taking a sole McDonald's Diet for 30 days!He eats McDonald's for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 30 days.He has to Super Size his meal if the Customer Service Rep at McDonald's ask him if he'd like to Super Size his diet...No Excuse at all!
It sounds quite fun at the beginning and he actually enjoys the food but as the days pass, he gets addicted to it and in return he has all sorts of negative effect over his health! The doctors even fear for his life! This documentary shows how children today recognize Ronald McDonald without having to think for a second and when shown the picture of "Jesus", they have no clue who he is!
Obesity indeed is a big problem these days, not only in America but also all over the world! Several nutritionists in America say 'think of a situation when you are in a desert and you have nothing but a packet of junk food with you.. that is only when you should be eating junk food else never!'...Fast food chains earn billions of dollars yearly whereas fresh grocery stores earn few millions.
I don't know if the documentary has influenced today's youth and is able to bring some changes to their consumption pattern but it was worth watching!
My Question to you all is 'are you obsessed with junk food' precisely McDonald's... or do you know someone who is?? Would you rather go on a nutrition diet or stick to McDonald and all sorts of other fast food chains??

As much as I'd like to eat in fast food chains, I would rather have options instead of just one choice with were I'd eat. Further, I don't think it's a good idea to go for too many of those meals because they're obviously unhealthy.
Further, I think the health effects in the long run and the hospitalization and medication needed for the health implications would be far worst than the free food.

Definitely, junk foods can be dangerous in the long run. Knowingly or unknowingly people intake so much of sugar, fat and other things that accumulate within the body and harm us gradually! We need to be sensible about our choices before it's too late!
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice day!

Well I think the documentary movie proves a good point, that we're all aware of anyway, but some people do just love junk food, and why not? Its sooooo tasty, and addictive.
I think we should all just be sensible though. I cant afford fast food everyday so I only go maybe once a fortnight for fast food. The rest of the time, its home cooked food and I know whats in it!
I wouldnt ever try his experiment though. I find it so hard to shift weight so I prefer to eat in moderation so I dont go putting on too much weight.

I know, his experiment was a bit extreme but at the end he had a good point to prove. I agree with you that people need to be sensible enough in regards to junk food, Specially with their kids!
Have a good Day!

When i am with my friends, we go to McD. I only hand out with them once in 2 months though as i have a hectic schedule. I seldom eat junkfood. My alternative for that is dried fruits.
You just made me thinking to go to a nutritionist. I eat greens every lunch time for the whole working week. I eat little in the evening but i do eat like a monster in breakfast. I eat rice only during weekends.. but still i am overweight...

Good on you, Grace! it's absolutely right choice to eat greens. Regarding your weight, i reckon you are healthy not over-weight! But yes, its always a good idea to keep in touch with a nutritionist!

Well, I see no problem with kids not being able to recognize a fictional character or two
I can understand that person trying to prove that a McDonalds diet can be something extremely risky by showing that in front of a camera, but it's a really risky challenge, and I would never accept it. A cholesterol excess can even kill you.
I see no problem in going to McDonalds now and then, as far as people don't abuse that kind of food, what is when the problems appear.
I don't know any person obsessed with fast food, and I'm glad

Yes, the experiment done by the film-maker is a bit extreme but he had a point to prove in the end! Kids today are greatly attracted towards fast food. This documentary also talks about two teenage girls who sued McDonald's for their obesity. People need to be aware of the bad side of the fast food industry to be able to protect their kids and themselves from causing health problems.

I had become a junk food addict for a few years. I didn't live at mcdonald's but I sure did eat a lot of junk. I got rid of it all. I lost a ton of weight, exercise daily, and I not only won't eat at mcdonald's and other fast food places, but I never eat sweets. If I have a sweet craving, I fulfill it with fruits. I'm not sure if I could even stomach watching that show, but I could never do what that person did.

I eat at McDonald 4 or 5 times a year. I usually get a kids meal with real orange juice. There is nothing wrong with eating there every few months. For most people without dietary restrictions any food choice can be eaten without problems once in a while. All eating establishments can have a place in a healthy diet. McDonald's, as expensive as it is in my part of the world, is good for fast food on the run. For the same price I could get a good meal in a nice restaurant, but it would take a lot of time. It's easier to eat at the bus station, plus they have clean bathrooms for customers.

Although I do know people who are obsessed with junk food, no one really in my immediate circle is. Some are sensible and eat their every once in a while. But as for me, my boyfriend and or kids, no we do not eat at McDonald's, actually I can't remember the last time I did.
I think it is too unhealthy to do so, too routinely but hey as long as some can balance I do not see it an issue.

We do tend to throw the word addiction around with an unnecessary ease. In this present society, we believe people have no choice what they do or any control over their choices. What exactly does the word addiction mean anyway. Addiction meant in the past that the person had no control over their behavior. Where I choose to eat a Big Mac, or know the picture of Ronald Mcdonald or Jesus seems to me to be my choice. People get fat eating to much food. America has become a nation of people who don't believe in their own ability to make choices. It is so much easier to let others make those choices for you. Then again we are a great nation of propaganda. I can make a documentary that hummingbirds drive people to committ murder. Just as we had a group of criminals who stated that eating twinkies caused them committ crimes. I am sorry you were fooled into beliving this bunch of hogwash. But then I am sure that hogwash will make you fat too.
