Lady Ga Ga and her affect on my teenage daughter

My daughter was in the car with my wife and I and a song from "Lady Ga Ga" came on the radio. She got excited and told me to turn it up. First of all let me tell you that I do not like Lady Ga Ga. She has a great singing voice but everything else about her I do not like. The song sounded really odd and gave me a bad feeling by hearing it so I turned it off. We had a HUGE heated discussion over it and she tried to convince us what the song was about so I looked up the lyrics on the internet and was very shocked at what I read!! (www.metrolyrics.com/test-lady-gaga-2.php) She is singing a love song to Judas, the betrayer of Jesus!! Some of what she says in the song is: "I couldn't love a man so purely even darkness forgave his crooked way" "I'm just a holy fool, oh baby he's so cruel but I'm in love with Judas, baby" "In the most biblical sense I am beyond repentance" ***The most shocking statement in the song was: "Judas is the demon I cling to, I cling to.." What the hell is that?!!? Clinging to a demon?!?!? and she has our children singing this song?!?!!?!?!?! I am fearful of what she is putting into the minds of our teenagers and what other so called artists are doing the same. My daughter claims that she wants to follow God, but also said that she is not going to stop listening to Lady Ga Ga! She was so angry and hates me now that I have forbid anything that has to do with Lady Ga Ga in my house. It amazes me that we can be hated for trying to do what is right, and trying to protect them, and then at the same time not appriciated for the everyday things that we do for them either.

Not too long ago Lady GaGa had a breakdown...maybe it's catching up with her....might want to tell your daughter that. Living a life like she is turns dark and dangerous....I can't stand her. I don't know what the appeal is. I am with you on that one!

And don't think it will go away as they get older!! I still argue with my 38 year old son about how many modern songs are just rubbish - no tune and silly lyrics. Give me the Beatles, Stones, Abba, Staus Quo, Queen, etc. Some of those lyrics were controversial if you can understand what they were saying! haha I suppose the bottom line is whether the young really understand and believe what the lyrics mean or whether they just sing and dance to a catchy tune. We can never shield our children from the bad things in society. They are bombarded with it from all directions. All we can do is to teach them right from wrong; what is good and what is bad and leave them to it.

I must agree. This song is really different from her other songs.. I haven't listen to it yet, but as I have read some lyrics of it.. I can imagine how bad could it be for my fellow teeners! I wonder what's her inspiration while writing this one.
