Are you close in age to your step kids?

About 6 years ago I married a wonderful man. He has 3 kids 25-35 years old and 2 grandkids. I have 3 kids in the 14-21 range. He took in my children even though it was starting over for him. Yes, there was an adjustment period but we got through that. Here is the kicker: I am 8 years older than his oldest son. This hasn't been a issue for us but I'm amazed at how some people scoff at that. We joke about it and laugh, as long as I'm not younger than his youngest daughter. Now that would just be wrong. But I guess it does happen. Luckily he has aged well and no one has called him my father. We are 14 years apart. Not too much I don't think. The important thing is that love conquers all.
