When I first saw the poster of Thor, I was really attracted to that. Characters in armored suits and Thor with his famous hammer. Not to mention the attractive Natalie Portman acting as astrophysicist and Jaimie Alexander in full armor playing Sif. Overall it was looking good and it was also in 3D. so, this Sunday I decided to check out the movie.
The first thing that will come to your mind is a weak story line. The story line is very loose and that is evident in quite a few scenes. Plus the overall pace of the movie seemed to be lost. There was really lack of quality actions scenes. When you are talking about a super hero, everyone looks up to fights and hand to hand encounters. But, that was not the case. Most of the time you will find Thor only using his hammer to win the encounters, as if there is nothing else which he can do to win battles. Also I found it strange that there were so few people in the city of gods when they showed such a massive structure.
The 3D experience was also not up to the mark but I am not sure if that is because of the faulty 3D glasses from the cinema or was it actually inside the movie. But one thing is for sure, that was nothing extra ordinarily 3D about the movie. Even Yogi Bear had better 3D effects :P.
The climax of the movie was finished fast as if the director lost the pace and wanted to finish it off quickly. And to add more there were big fight or flashy scenes to make it a bit more interesting. Overall I would give it 6 out of 10.

The movie is indeed one of the best in Marvel.. It is very very pleasurable because of the popular casts such as Natalie Portman and more. The movie entices my mind and lets me imagine impossible things. Loki(Rival) gives meaning to Thor and you will really learn a lesson to this movie. Marked by his arrogance, he was punished and exiled to go to Earth. The screenplay is remarkable and the graphics is quite good. The movie is hanging in the end. It seems to have part 2 which excites me..... Thanks

I agree with you. In fact, if i were to rate it, i would give it a 5 out of 10. Good thing i didn't watched it on 3D, so i didn't get to spend more money. I didn't even recognized the climax of the movie. I thought maybe it's just that i'm not much of a fan of this kind of movie, but my husband agreed with me also when i said that it was not a good movie.

That's the problem with comics-turned-movie flicks. It seems story writers don't have an idea on how to put together a movie from comic strips. I don't blame them, though, because introducing a character and at the same time adding a climax to the movie is pretty hard to do. If you watched The Hulk starring Eric Bana, or The Last Airbender, you'll feel the same disappointment.

I am not a huge fan of the whole action hero type movies and I had never read Thor or got into the whole big franchise however I did see the movie.
I went into the movie with mixed reviews, Friends told me it awesome so I checked it out to my delight I found it to be a good movie the only small complaint I had was Thor was like this big huge massive dude, probably almost 7 feet tall. While his love interest in the movie Natalie Portman is like what 4'8 or something, It just seemed a little out of place. In the scenes she did not even come up close to his shoulders, I think shes a super attractive and talented actress but she looked like a little fidget standing next to Thor.
Her Role in the movie was not really that big, Honestly it was just a few scenes especially when a good part of the movie took place in his realm where no humans can go.
Anyways, Overall I did enjoy the movie I did not watch it in 3D and I agree there was nothing extra ordinarily 3D you would be missing not watching the movie with the whole 3D Glasses and such.
I would give it a solid 7 out of 10. Some good twists and surprises which I wont give away. I recommend it...

Honestly, I completely disagree!
I really enjoyed the movie. I was really not expecting to, but I'd promised I'd see it with my boyfriend. I don't generally like 3D because it gives me headaches, so I was reluctant, but honestly I got so engrossed I didn't notice until the end.
As for Thor using his hammer - well duh, if you had an amazingly powerful weapon you could do all sorts of things with, of course you'd use it. You wouldn't throw it on the floor and use hand to hand because, frankly, that would be stupid.
I'd give it an 8, if not a 9.

I have only seen a few clips on the TV, but that was enough to disappoint me. I can see how you were not very impressed with many aspects of the film. Thor appeared to me as a complete wimp! I certainly wont be going to the cinema to see this.
Are all 3D films this bad? I fear they are on the whole. Although I haven't seen Yogi Bear in 3D yet. He's one of my favorites so I must be biased.
