No, I wound not be annoyed especially if they preferred to use fork than chopsticks. There are some people who dont know how to use chopsticks here in my country or other countries because were only using spoon and fork. I think it is very acceptable if one of my friend who dont know how to use chopsticks will use fork to eat sushi, maybe I will get annoyed if she/he ordered sushi without eating.

Well, it never is easy to use the chopsticks the first few times. I still remember I dropped every thing the first I used chopsticks. Ha ha ! So, I should not blame if someone likes to use fork at the first time. Now, I am very comfortable with chopsticks. Easy, easy ! But, not at the first time !

I pretty much grew up on Sushi... I personally don't really care if somebody eat it with forks or something else... I was born & raised in Korea... I was 13 years old when I came to United States... Though now I'm 40 & I've been living in U.S longer than I've lived in Korea, there are few things I haven't forgotten, using chopsticks is one of them... I guess I never really stopped using them... It's not a criticism for anyone but getting annoyed for someone not using chopsticks when eating Sushi seems a little silly to me... It's like someone getting upset with me if I use chopsticks to eat steak, and I do... After cutting up my steak into little pieces, I use chopsticks to eat them... I guess it's all what you're used to... And I guess I do understand in a way... There are things I find annoying that people think I'm silly for letting them bother me... I don't think there's really a correct way to eat something, at least not when utensils are involved... Yeah granted that it would be pretty har to have a soup with a fork but... You get my point...

There are some things that annoy me, but eating sushi with a fork is not one of them. I woyld not mind either if a japanese friend ate with chopsticks my food. I am dumb with chopsticks as it´s not part of my culture. Maybe other people can´t use properly a knif, afork or a spoon.
Welcome to mylt, if you are still here.

I remember a time i went to a chinese restaurant with a group of friends. only one girl didn't know how to use chopsticks so the rest of us stole her cutlery and forced her to learn... she ended up stabbing her food :S

I would be annoyed myself, because that is so wrong to do. I always eat sushi with chopsticks or with my hands.
