i think i might be in love with my best friend..

it's been a month now since i last saw him and i can't seem to take him off my mind.. i always think about him, how he makes me laugh, how he gives out his stupid jokes, how he laughs, how he smiles, how he sleeps.. everything! but the thing is i don't know if he feels the same way about me.. it started when i was living in LA.. i was with another guy and then i met him.. he was friendly, and so was his friends.. we became close to the point that we watch movies together, i make food, we go out, etc.. until just recently, i moved out of the US to study.. and he visited me.. everything was different, he was sweeter than ever.. i never thought i'd ever feel this way about a friend before.. he said he loves me, but then he also said i'm his bestfriend.. it's really frustrating coz his actions, the way he looks at me, and his body language says otherwise.. so what should i do? should i tell him? should i just give out signs and let him talk first? has anyone been in this type of situation before? what do you think is best?
