A few days back, I was watching one of the episodes of the Las Vegas where Tony Orlando was shown performing on the stage singing his most famous song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Around the Old Oak Tree"..... this brought back the memories of my childhood when I really really used to love this song, sometimes cry too after listening to this song. Only recently I read about the facts or the folklore that goes behind this song and it made love this song even more! For those who do not know, this song is about an ex-convict on his way home. After spending some years in the prison, he is not sure if he will be welcomed back in his loved ones' lives so he has sent a letter ahead asking them to tie a yellow ribbon around the giant oak tree that stands in their yard. As the bus passes by, if he sees the ribbon, then it will mean that he is welcome back to their lives. If the ribbon is not there then he will stay in the bus and seek his life somewhere else and forget that there ever was a life for them all. It kind of gives me goosebumps whenever I listen to this song. Do you have such a song that gives you such kind of feelings?
