Kanye West is a hip-hop artist. Therefor, he should make hip hop albums. 808s and Heartbreak is the worst excuse for a hiphop album ever. Kanye is a musical genius when it comes to hiphop. He makes the greatest beats and come up with the most clever lines and hooks. When 808s came out I was in disbelief. At first I thought I liked it just because I was a Kayne fan, but then I realized how awful it was. It made all his true fans turn against him for awhile. I do have to give him props though, because although it was a horrible album in my eyes, it managed to sell like crazy. College Dropout and Graduation were amazing!

I think the album was good. Granted, his earlier albums were extremely better in terms of subject matter as well as where he was mentally. 808s was strange, but it was new and it opened up a new part of himself to his fans, or rather, those who stuck around for it. I'm a fan of his older work, yeah, but I also like his new stuff too. Like Amazing with Jeezy, and Heartless with Pain. Love Lock Down was an alright song too. I'm not saying that 808s was great; it's no where near his best work and I was a bit disappointed as well. But 808s wasn't that bad.
