Homeless Veterens

Recently while watching PBS I saw a documentary on homeless veterens. I have always wanted to volunteer to help people but never had the time. But now I have a lot of free time and want to start. After watching this episode on homeless veterens I really want to get involved with helping them find homes because I feel like if it was not for them none of us would be able to truly feel comfortable in our own homes. Because let's face it, they choose to risk their life and limbs and emotional well being for us to keep our rights and freedoms here in the US. So is there anyone out there who can tell me who to contact to be able to help place veterens in homes? Agencies and resources to contact?
