Mylot has been a great outlet for people to discuss some things from simple matters to complex things like relationships with other people. There have been invaluable info that can be searched even within mylot. However, there are many things that even in personal standards that a member wouldn't post even though they are protected by their anonymity. What are things will you never post in mylot and why would you post them?

I will never post worrisome sentiments and mention the name of the person causing the worry at the same thread.

Anything too specific about my religious or political beliefs. I may post in vague, general terms, but if I am too clear, there is a chance that I'm going to open up some type of Internet horror. Granted, perhaps it is best that I steer clear of all topics to begin with. Religious and politics are two hot button topics on the Internet or really anywhere else for that matter. You can take any stance, and enrage a lot of people with just a few simple words. Even if its just your opinion, it must be wrong, because it contradicts their opinion.
I'm going to make a concentrated effort from now on to stay away from any "2012" or the world's going to end topics. I expect this to last about three weeks. I will not post any further opinions on this. There are only so many ways I can state what I think about this and I think a lot of them ceased to be rather creative months ago. Also, don't bring up any names of people I know in topics, but I never do that. If its my stupidity, I'll be happy to bring it up, so we can all have a good laugh, but someone who isn't even here to defend themselves, that really is not fair. Then again that's always kind of been my policy.

religion and politics are really the hot topics around the net, possibly becuase those two subjects are very personal and in a sense very private matter with certain individuals. I guess you really can't talk about the topics without someone with totally and radical opinion or thought from the other side.

I keep my personal business private and don't find it necessary to give out certain information, since i also tend to be a very private person in real life, even though i will share my problems and situations with family members and friends.
The only times i may reveal something about my personal life is when i can relate to someones personal situation and feel i may be able to advise them in some way.In fact i'm quite surprised at what some people are comfortable with sharing here, even when they're criticized or their responses are not always kind, they will continue to post these types of discussions regardless. But, i guess to each is own.

I am also a private person and I make certain that if I do post something private, I try to keep the matter as vague as possible. I would like to share that experience to know if people did experience the same thing but I understand people if they are not willing to discuss that particular subject due to privacy concerns. To each his own, amen.

I wouldn't want to post anything too personal. Like if I'm having trouble with my boyfriend, that's between us...I wouldn't want other people to get involved, because it's our problem and we need to work through it you know?
I also wouldn't post anything that I really wouldn't want my other half or family to see - I would never post something offensive about them, even in a spur of the moment "I'm so angry" kind of way. Saying things you don't mean when you're angry can destroy a relationship, and when those things are on the internet permanently, for the injured party to see is worse.
