me and my girlfriend plans to go to the casino one of these days, just out of curiosity. i've never been in to one, honestly. it's kinda making me uneasy since i have no idea what to expect. our basic plan is just to check the place out and maybe play some slot machines. as i'm also not sure how these machines work, maybe there are some mylotters out there who has already been to one and who could at least give me an idea. do we use tokens/chips, or just cash? how much would that token be? how to cash out? how to play? i assume that the slot machines that PAGCOR use are somewhat identical in all of their casinos. i tried googling it, but with unsatisfactory results. any response is highly appreciated. =) tnx.

Hi Murkie, I occasionally go to the Pagcor Casino on Ronquillo St., Sta. Cruz, Manila. It's beside Jollibee and is near LRT Carriedo. It's way smaller than the other branches so it's not a scary intimidating place :) They have bingos there but 95% of the place is for slot machines. You need "Show Money" to enter. Just show the guard what's in your wallet and you're fine. I'm not sure if it's 2,000 Pesos or 1,500 today. Anyway, there are slot machines at the first floor now because they just renovated the place. Anyway just look for a vacant machine. Make sure to ask if it's vacant because some seats look vacant but they are actually reserved by people who like to roam around and observe others. Curiously, there are more Matronas here than men. You can exchange your money for chips at the info counter. Some chips are 1 peso and some are 10 pesos each. However, the new machines already accept 100, 500 and 1,000 bills. The controls are basically the same for all machines. At the left side are the buttons for "Gamble" and "Take Win". Press "Take Win" if you want your chips/bets back, then exchange them at the counter, and then you can go home :) The buttons in the middle are for how much you'll bet and how many lines you'd like to play. The more lines you play, the bigger the bet, the better. You can choose 2 lines, 3 lines, 5 lines, etc. Then on the right side is the big "SPIN" button. In some older machines, there's a big pull-down lever. 2 years ago, I pressed 10 lines and I won 1,700 pesos. That was at midnight. I just passed by the casino on my way home because my call center shift ended at 11:30pm. I went home immediately after the win so I wouldn't spend that money. I lived to fight/gamble another day :) There are lots of taxi cabs there at night so you don't need to worry about transpo. By the way, there is a minimum bet if you really want to win the Big Jackpots of 1.5 million pesos and up. I think the minimum now is 200 Pesos per spin. It's that expensive. The worst that could happen is that you're betting small amounts (20, 30 or 40) and suddenly the jackpot combination came out! In this case, you won't win the jackpot! But you could try, out of adventure, to bet 200 or more on just one spin. Who knows, you might get lucky! If you win the jackpot, the machine's siren (wang wang) is going to make noise so loud everybody in the building will know you just won a million pesos! Beware! hahaha! Then the attendant will rush to you and record the data and you just wait for the check. Oh one more secret about casinos. I read this in a book years ago. One or several of those machines are really programmed to win the jackpot on let's say every 40,000th spin. It depends on the programmers. Some are really lucky machines which dish out jackpots every 10,000th spin. Anyway, here's the probable scenario. Guy A has been playing the machine all night since 1am. It's now past lunchtime and he still hasn't won. Unknown to him, the machine's CPU counter now reads 39,999. Then Guy A suddenly goes out to eat at Jollibee because he couldn't take it anymore. If you were the person who sat in that seat next, you will win the jackpot definitely, provided you bet the minimum of 200 :) Then Guy A returns after 3 hrs and plays for another 8 hours in the same machine but he has no clue that a big opportunity just passed him by. How unlucky he was! hahaha! Good luck to you and your girlfriend. Just remember, don't lose it all. When you win big, just take the money and run! :)

thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. i learned more than what i expected i could. =) but it got me lost even more. lol. what i know was that there was only a single line on the screen. now, you mentioned that there could be 2/3/5 lines in them. i guess i just need to actually see them for me to understand. obviously my knowledge was so old school. hahaha. so you really have to actually show the guard how much money you have? probably so they would avoid loitterers in their place (just like the 500 minimum of mylot to avoid spammers). anyway, we are alotting an amount for us to spend when we get there. amount that we could afford to waste. hopefully we win some. and ifever we lose, i hope it would be within the amount that we have brought in, nothing more. p.s. i wish i could be the person after guy A. haha.
