Time for some nostalgia people, We know kids have the craziest imaginations ever so for asure because of that crazy imagination there are things that scares us that doesnt make sense. When i was a kid (around 3 to 5 years of age) I was afraid of the mannequins in the mall because I thought they will move, I thought they were ghosts or something. I was afraid of closets and cabinets because I thought there is a ghost or monster inside. I guess sits because of some horror film I get to watch at a very young age. I am also afraid of clowns because I thought they were monsters who will try to get me, so yeah I cried with terror during my cousin's birthday party. There is also an icecream commercial that scares me before, Its an icecream commercial that shows Mango flavored and Purple yam flavored icecream... That commercial have people with paints on their faces. if clowns scares me, people with yellow and purple paint on their faces scared me more... During your childhood what are those things that scares you due to your imagination.

Even at this age I'm still scared of snakes even the though that there is a snake in my place. I remember when I was 18 when this little snake fell on our dining table, I almost faint and screaming and I got our neighbors' attention, they rushed to our house and killed that snake. After that, they laught before me because the snake was actually 10 feet away from where I hid my self...

so it started with movies instead of personal experience. I am a huge fan of horror movies but I think once i became a parent I wont let my kids watch horror movies until they were 10, so they wont develop fears. a horror movie about frogs makes me not want to touch a frog before as a kid.

how old are you when this fear of snakes that you have started, I can understand why you cant move on from that fear and get over it since snakes are kinda fatal and venomous.

When I was in grade school, we used to sleep together in the family. The light was on too so it wasn't dark when we would sleep.

I think not making a little child not watch horror movies and read horror stories will make them not afraid of the dark.

as a kid i've been afraid of the dark. i had imagined that a stranger would grab me, perhaps kidnap me and never return me home. lol also, i've been afraid of swallowing seeds of certain fruits. because an oldie once scared us that the seeds will grow into plants and trees and if we swallowed a seed, it will grow in our stomach and sprout a plant. hehe i was also afraid to eat dinuguan because i felt like the vampires and blood drinking monsters in movies and zombies... i might turn out like them once i had a taste of it. until this day, i don't know how it tastes like but i do know the real score. hehehe

i can sleep in the dark but not with a ghost that i can sense. hehe and i only do blankets when it's really really cold. clown face actually is not funny to me. the smile looks fake and so is everything else. a lot of kids are scared of it. as for mannequins, i think it has something to do with dolls and body parts that get dislocated. hehe as a kid, i didn't want dolls with a missing arm or a rotating leg. scary. hehe

I swallowed a santol seed before and I thought I am going to die and I cried because of those stories they will grow in yout stomach. It seemed like the dark is a popular answer. I can peacefull sleep in the middle of the night even with a house with ghost as long as there is airconditioner/electric fan and I have some blanket. I have no explanation though why face paint scares me as a kid. I also dont know why mannequins scared me as a kid,

Lots of recollection to make for this question. But there is something that even now, when still crosses to my memory or let say seeing someone like me during those younger years, it always makes me smile. I remember one time when I need to see a friend in the farm, there are lots of scarecraws there. I didn't not want to get nearer for I feel, it follows me. Especially when it is windy that makes them seems moving. I even got fever one night for thinking and remembering what I saw in the farm. I could not remember how i did overcome that fear, but when it happens that I sees scarecraws, I smiled. Until now, I love to always share that story to my younger relatives. What an ignorance. But somehow, it's nice to have such experience which we can reminisce sometime. Feels great to share it until now. Happy mylotting.

The haunting thing about scarecrows is the fear that they might move. When i was 3 to 4 I am afraid of mall mannequins because i thought they will move too. I know they were sexy compared to scarecrows but I was a toddler then. Now whenever I saw a mannequin, I got naughty and tried to touch the melons of one of them... But compared to mannequins, scarecrows dont have redeeming values. they were just creepy.

I am not afraid of Mannequins and those other things anymore, I was only 2 to 5 when they scared me, but yeah an icecream commercial use to make me cry. I think 9 out of 10 ladies are afraid of the infamous cockroach. I don't know why people would like to see gargoyles in their houses.... I understand why you find them creepy, imagine seeing them in the middle of the night.

i feed them to my pet carnivorous fish. It saves me a lot of money. if you have an arrowana, cockroaches are money savers but you must stop spraying.

Things that scare the bejesus out of me till date are insects and snakes. But the degree of fera has changed as i grew up. During my childhood I used to cry as a i laid my eyes on them. But today i shoo them away or call for help. This has been the one and only fear I have been having.

As a child i was always scared of the dark and monsters under my bed. Sometimes when the lights are out, the child in me is still a little bit afraid of something under my bed.

I also sleep with the lights on as a child but now i can tolerate darkness, thank god, I know many kids are afraid of monsters under the bed, so if i have a kid, I will make beds will be solid, so there will be no places were monsters can fit.

hello, This is interesting! ha ha Like you I am scared of many things and I dont even want to go alone by myself. ha ha Okay? when I was a kid I think 7 years old I am really much aware of Ghost and darkness. They said that if it is dark there is a Ghost that will come out. Ohhh! scary! That is why whenever it already dark outside the house I usually close the windows and doors and my mom will ask me why? haha I just said her the ghost will come out. ha ha it makes me laugh whenever I remember that! And I think that is the only thing that makes me scared the "darkness" haha

Do you remember your age when you had learned to get over that fears? The darkness really plays well with the imagination of children. Because of darkness kids cant sleep with the night light.

Hmm... I guess it's one reason why I don't like horror movies so much... When I was younger, when I watched those horror movies, I would pull my legs up on the sofa for fear that something would grab my legs from underneath. Also, I would sit in a chair that is right next to the wall - no space - to make sure that no one can come up to me from behind.

luckily you never get to watch the movie about a monster bed that eats women, my cousin is afraid of beds because of that movie for 2 years she slept in the sofa and in bed.
