My kids are only 2 and 3 but I see kids that are 6 with cell phones now. What happened to the days when parents trusted there kids to be where they say they are going to be? I remeber when I was a kid my mom would just come and find me and most of the time I was were I told her I would be. I got a cell phone when I was like 16 have things really changed that much that people need to give little kids cell phones? Why do kids that young need a cell phone who are they going to call? How old would you give your child and cell phone?

WELCOME TO MYLOT!!!
We have turned into a society fueled by fear!!! I can see NO reason to give a 5 year old a cell phone!!!My niece is 13 & she has one. ALL it has accomplished is that she can NO longer communicate with the "real world"!!! In the middle of a conversation, her phone bings & she immediately stops to respond to her friend who was saying NOTHING of consequence & ignores the person talking to her face!!! She NO longer knows how to talk on a phone as she just HAS to text!!! I was 45 before I got my first one & I still think I was too young for it!!!!
