why we keep on cherishing memories of people long gone?

isn't it quiet very ironic that we keep on remembering moments of people long have gone to somewhere to the road of no return? and worst to these, we remember everything - even the sad, humiliating and aginizing parts. and then at the end of the day we missed that person - tears rolling down our cheeks. why remember and cry? plus this, if that person is someone so dear to us, we yearn to them for help. as if help will really come.

Often times, memories are the only things that we have left of a lot of people that played a vital part of that life. Sometimes, there is not a full acceptance of what has happened, and why it had happened. Therefore, we reflect on everything in the past. Perhaps spend a little too much time reflection upon the past. We do tend to get fixated on everything, and the reasons of this all rather understandable, but still it can get a bit depressing after a while. I think a lot of the times, people are trying to reach towards some kind of amount of closure. Yet, they never reach that point. So they still going through everything over and over again. Closure is necessary to wrap up this chapter in the book known as life and really move onto the next part. With that in mind, it is one of the most difficult things in the world to do. That's why people do in fact hold onto the memories.

because we tend to cloud out the bad memories of the past and only remember the good ones.

My mother and a sister have passed away. My sister passed away first, she was 38 years old. My mom passed away two years later. I remember them because it helps me to keep their memory alive and I still feel their love when I think about them. For some, maybe it is to have the good feelings and it helps during difficult times. I sometimes get teared up. Just because I miss seeing them in human form. I know they both are still here for me and cheering me on. It all depends on ones perspective. peace and happiness in your life. :-)
