It has been horrible with the price of gas constantly increasing lately.
Last week the price went down about 5 cents, but shot up yesterday just over 6 cents.
The blame is on the wholesale oil prices being at over $3.35/gallon I heard on the radio today.
Yesterday I went to gas up for $1.299, which was the cheapest there was in the city. I waited over half an hour just to get to a pump in a very small station, but people kept cutting in from all directions.
I'm not amused by this, but thankfully it's not winter, it would cost me far more to gas up since I drive more during that time.
And the government has decided not to attempt to regulate the gas prices here as they haven't had any luck in the past they said.
Hopefully the prices go down soon.

I think that is 1.40 per liter, so that is comparable to our prices.

When you do the comparison, that's about what we're paying now. $6.
It's unbelievable.
Our prices are made up of about 40% taxes, a new one was added last July, another 8% added to the prices.

I know, it is not any better here. We try to save on other things to compensate.

Choices have to be made when it comes to this.
But my bills are suffering so much, I have to renew my license in July and I owe over $200 for that.
I'm trying to rescue a cat right now, and I'm dealing with food on my own for now. My own pets suffer, but somehow I have enough to feed them, I get some food for free sometimes.

I have methods of saving on groceries, by purchasing short dated and freezing it. We eat better than some people. I think if I was not married I would eat cheaper. I grew up on short rations. I often just make boiled chicken mixed with oatmeal for my cats. It is cheaper than the cheapest cat food, but they act healthier and livelier since I started to do this. I get leg quarters for 70 cents per pound or less.

I am extremely glad that I don't drive. I am glad that I don't have to pay for gas on a daily basis, along with all the other crap that one has to pay, when owning a vehicle. Mind you, I'll still be expected to pay for it in the form of a rise in the cost of everything because of shipping. AARRGGHH!!!

You are right, we all suffer in every part of our lives.

You know our government keeps having these hearing questioning why the profits of the gas companies keep rising and yet threaten to increase prices further if the government cuts their tax breaks. With profits like those why would they need a tax break?

This is one of the main reasons I accepted a job closer to home!
The price of gas has become unbelievable. My short commute then had become very expensive, so I opted for work a few blocks from home in where I could just walk. And maybe give up the car and save some insurance too.
I think it's wishful thinking that it would go down soon.

I would love to give up my car, but it's my work, so I can't. It sure would save me thousands each year in insurance alone, and probably more than that in fuel costs as well.

I don’t think the price of gas (petrol is what we say in India) is going to decrease any time in the near future. It has almost become a norm for the prices to increase twice a year and with it, the prices of essential commodities also increase in direct proportion. Just now, I responded to a similar discussion where mylotters are saying how expensive bread is becoming… its rice for us as the staple and we are just making do with poorer quality of rice as we can no longer afford to buy the good quality that we are used to. Its so frustrating that the industry just passes on the entire gamut of increased prices to the common people whereas we have no way of increasing our income… I really wish the govt would step in to control the prices of essential food items so that even the rich corporate houses absorb some of the increased prices against their profit…but as we all know, no luck there too… after all, it’s the corporate that run the govts.

In my place gas too is raising very high like now It is about 0.94 Ls for one gallon. The goverment told us that It never would raise to 1LS, but It is very close to red line. I do not know what to do, because in my place the salariy's is not raising It is the minimum in some jobs. You need to think what to buy or what to no. It is hard times now, but I believe that gas prices will decress soon.

The last time I got gas was Sunday I believe and the prices was $3.64 as of today the gas prices are $3.67, the prices keep rising from week to week. I'm just wondering if its going to be any worst or better. I blame the oil as well. Even with gas prices going up steadly I still have to make the same number of trips I would have to if the prices were lower. School is about 25 minutes away. Work is about 20 minutes away, and I'm a young adult, who still like to go out, so entertainment is a distance away as well. Can't win for loosing, like I always say.

The price of gas has sky rocketed. On the news they even said it will go up to $6.00 a gallon. Are you serious? I just wish you didn't have to drive to get from place to place. We have to buy gas eventually, so they are going to keep increasing the price. Since the gas prices have gone up so much, I think everyone's pay should to!!
