An interesting finding ...

Our company is recruiting several positions. When the candidates to register for recruitment, I usually let them fill out basic information on a candidate information sheet. This table is only an A4 page and they must fill in the two sides of it. However, I noticed that most candidates are just writing on the front. They do not know that there is back! Usually, they finished writing the one hand, then, they called me and told me that they have completed. Not only a candidate that almost all the candidates are getting the same error. I wonder if this is a habit or a lack of candidates care needed? Usually, if I were asked to write or fill out something, I will consider very carefully the table and does not require a skip a beat. If you, after completing the front page of the paper, you can flip to the next page to consider not?

They're probably just in a careless rush, if you ask me. Maybe they've a few other places that they have or are planning on applying for and have other important things to do. Or, then again, they could just be lazy. Although, I would hope not. Personally, I've had so many papers that have had backsides that I've skipped that it's become a habit for me to check the back to make sure I get it all done proper. I have failed a lot of schoolwork just by going through in a rush and not checking the back, so that was quite an incentive for me to start checking before I think I'm finished.

I always check both sides. Especially now, many companies are trying to help save the Earth by finding ways to conserve. By using both side of the paper for an application, helps. Maybe you could let them know there is 2 side. Or you could use it as a test. I would say if they are not filling out both sides they are not paying a whole lot of attention to detail. You may not want these candidates in your company. Just a thought. Best Wishes!

I think that's a perfect example of people not paying attention to what they need to. People are not thorough in getting a job or doing a job anymore. SEEMS MOST EVERYONE WANTS TO TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT W/EVERYTHING.

If I am filling something out, I always check the back to see if I missed anything. Job applicants should do this also. If they miss a question it shows that they don't pay attention to details. Sometimes the person that gives me the form says something about both sides. If it becomes a problem maybe it could be printed on the form to continue to other side.

Unfortunately, a lot of people commit that mistake. And they wonder why they are not picked by the prospect employer! It makes it easier for the hiring company, doesn't it? It shows that the applicant is either negligent or not following instructions. Who would want to hire that? When I apply for job, I don't leave anything blank as much as I can, and I always check the back side.

I guess they got the idea of "it's always just the front side", if you know what I mean. Well, a lot of people think that only the front side of the paper has to be written and has contents and the back left empty cause when you write something on the back the front will appear bad because of marks... I guess that's what they thought. That it's just the front because if it is only the front that would be neater. LOL So it teaches a good lesson - check all sides first, it can save us from doing stupid mistakes we never thought we will actually do. LOL

I think the candidates are lacking in consideration to even look at the back of the sheet they are filling out. I always look at the front and the back to make sure.

Out of habit I always turn any page over to it's back side and many times there is nothing there but always best to be safe then sorry later. I wonder since it is a repeated error that your form can have something labeled in the front that there is a back side. However, though this can also give you an indication that some of the candidates do not pay attention to detail. If detail is important for the position that may give you and or the hiring person an indication that something may go wrong later.
