I am not a picky eater, but there is one food in the world that I will never eat. The name of the food is balut. It's a sort of an egg which is nearly developed into a chick and is eaten from its shell by boiling it. People who have eaten it say it's delicious but I don't think I will ever eat one. Especially not after looking at the grossest picture I have seen of it.
Take a look at it in this blog (warning: not for the squeamish ones): http://unrealityetc.blogspot.com/2011/05/most-disgusting-food-on-earth.html

Yes mylotters that egg is called "balut" a delicious egg her in our country, Philippines. Balut has many nutrients to give in our body, it is good for people who have anemia, good also to pregnant woman for her to have strong body resistance and also good for honeymooners, lovers, partners or couples.

I did not bother checking the link because I can't stand looking at the grossest picture that you're talking about. Thankfully I don't eat balut and never will in my lifetime.

Aw, come on rosesthorns14! You only live once. Go try it for the experience! Hehehe! Be a daredevil. Just make sure you do it with an empty stomach. And let us know what your experience is like.

Balut may be grossly looking but it is delicious. I like it so much! When i eat it, i don't just look at it intently. After shelling the egg, you could put a bit of salt and spicy vinegar and eat it. It's so yummy . . really, you should try it! Eat it in the dark so you don't see it that much.

Wow that looks pretty crazy. Looks like something that should be on fear factor. Would you take a thousand dollars to eat that? It's just a baby chicken right? If we can eat eggs, and we can eat chicken, it must not be so bad to eat the half way point.

You know, people say it is quite tasty. They sell it at night and the reason for this is because people do think it looks gross bu the taste is so delicious they'd rather eat it in the dark so they don't have to see the whole thing. A thousand dollars you say? Ummm...err...(shuddering)...no!

Yeah it really odd looking but its nutritious due to protien content in it. I also don't eat balut, once I tried and I really vomit. I didn't tried it again that is why they eat balut without looking in it.

Hi. Positive2012. I have seen and heard about this type of thing to eat. It is very yucky and there is no way that I could just sit and eat this. It is disgusting and the embryo is still forming in some parts! How can someone eat something as yucky as this? Very nasty! It is almost like eating an real embryo from a woman's womb! How sick!

I knew it would gross me out so I wanted to take the high road and not even look at it, but my human curiosity got the best of me. It actaully made me sad to see it. I don't think I could ever eat that, but I do respect people's right to eat what they choose. Some of the things I eat surely would make some hardcore vegans and vegetarians disgusted.

This is gross, but i have seen far worse, take Cambodia's fried spider for example they cut of the fangs then boil them alive, some even burst while being fried and all the slimy spider blood boils and solidifies into a small lump of meat, in the body of the spider. although this balut looks rather disgusting but it might actually taste good. I have seen people in a Korean grill, and eat raw octopus legs that squirm on the plate and need to be chewed just in case the legs stick to the muscle of the throat. I have also heard of a duck blood soup as well sounds rather horrible. Here in England we have a eel soup sold flavoured with pepper.
