I have read that the 30th death anniversary of Bob Marley will be commemorated this week. What are his contributions to the world of music? Why is it that until now his music is still patronized by many?

So he must have the title " The Father of the Reggae Music". I wonder if I could ever appreciate his music have I been born with the same race like his.

I have also observed that! His hairstyle is still prevalent in our present day. He must be too influential to able to transcend generation from generation!

I don´t know much about Bob Marley because I liked other kind of music when I was young. Bb Marley would be my age if he was alive. And I´m amazed that my grandchildren are very much interested in his music and understand it in a way I did not decades ago. So I don´t know why, but I do know that his music has reached generations far beyond his lifetime.

Hello marguicha. I am not familiar with him too! I also wonder why his music is still loved by many, even by the younger generation. There must be some kind of magic in his music.

He is a "great" performer because he was so different to others in his time. Plus the music was very memorable. His songs may not have been fully understandable but they did have good subject matter. He was a charismatic stage performer that drew a large following. He managed to transcend the black / white wall that still existed to a large extent in his time.

Hello petersum! Yes, I'm trying to imagine what you described. Then, so we must say that he's not only great in music but also in terms of humanity.

Bob Marley was the Greatest Musician in the Reggae Style of Music from Jamaica. His Music was Great and He had many Hits like "I Shot the Sheriff" & Get Up, Stand Up. He was just such a Talent to Write Fine Songs at the Right Time to Bring the Reggae Sound to the World.

Bob Marley's a legacy because his music basically changed the face of reggae music. He was the one who helped spread Jamaican music along with the Rastafari movement to other parts of the world. He's also a legacy in Reggae music and this is why so many people in Jamaica and other Caribbean countries look up to him.
